"I'm A Pretender" is a stone cold classic - I even love that lousy guitar solo now.

Modern Kicks is just such a blasting statement of purpose. Too hard for me not to vote for it.

listening to this now, and this is one of those albums where every time the next song comes up i'm all "oh i should vote for this one" then the next one comes up and i'm like "damn this one is pretty awesome too"

Love this album. Went with Modern Kicks without thinking, but now I've got the chorus from You're Black And Blue stuck in my head.

Wish I'd seen this - would have voted "Rumors in town" - love the (2nd) lead / rhythm interplay and loads of hooks.

This sounded so great soundtracking the gorgeous drive down Lakeshore Drive earlier this morning. I think I could make an argument for each and every song on here. Easily one of the best ten albums of last decade.

bullseye ... sad story that they were shaken off this mortal coil ... they had more in 'em I'm sure ...

anyone who likes Guitar Romantic would be well served to check out the Cold Warps album (well technically a compilation of both of their tapes to date). I stumbled over it late last week and have spent basically every waking moment since screaming at anyone who'll listen to check it out:

too bad they couldn't fit Don't Haunt Me and Stuck On An Island on the physical release, but even without those two tracks the record's plenty solid.

i was looking at the waveform for a couple of Exploding Hearts songs and found that seems to have been mastered with very little dynamic range. not sure why, but this surprised me.

Miss these guys. I still have the setlist I took from their second-to-last show.
