The best RHCP song of the post-Navarro comeback - POLL

I don't realllly care, but I think most of the singles from Californication are stronger than By The Way. They haven't had a new song since Hump de Bump? What happened, Chilis?

Scar Tissue is a fantastic record with a touching melodicm interplay between Kiedis and the prodigal Frusciante. Everything else since can fall in a deep hole.

The first half of these are mostly pretty great, thanks almost entirely to Frusciante. The second half I wasn't paying attention. 'Scar Tissue'.

"Dani California" excepted, I couldn't hum one bar of the post-"Zephyr Song" crap.

I just love "By The Way" because it actually combines their hard rock roots and the Anthony Kiedis, Balladeer era really well. Almost all of these other songs are either melodic midtempo shit or half-hearted "hey, we still rock" moves.

tbh, I actually kind of like RHCP w/ Navarro...My Friends is a great song, the Ohio Players cover (for the Beavis & Butthead movie sdtk) is pretty cool, and I always really liked Aeroplane, too...and it's been a long time since I heard it, but I remember "Pea" being a really popular song.

What is the deal with the part in "Around the World" where he's all like "ching chong ching chong" etc.?

i love whoever this is, that song is hilarious and probably my 2nd favorite after "By The Way" but i had pretty much forgotten about it until just now

"This is the Place" and/or "Minor Thing" should have probably made it onto this poll. Then again, I likely would've voted for "By the Way", "Scar Tissue" or "Road Trippin'" anyway.

For me, it would have been a tie between 'Can't Stop' and 'Around The World'.

I realized my main barrier from being a bigger fan of RHCP was Anthony Kiedis singing like he has a Micro Machine lodged in the back of his throat

I remember being offended at "By The Way" sharing a progression with dEUS' "For the Roses" even though it's almost certainly a coincidence.

Very surprised at the love for "Scar Tissue", that track was absolutely inescapable for a minute, like, "All Star" or "Smooth" levels of supersaturation...

I always liked "Pea."

not that it really matters but I've heard "Parallel Universe" (album track from Californication) spun on commercial radio more frequently than at least half of these songs.
