I know that some ILM people do college radio shows, so I thought a post here would be justified. Toronto’s CKLN, where I’ve been doing a show the past five years, has a “show cause” hearing coming up with the CRTC, the governmental body that regulates broadcasting licenses in Canada. The station’s had a difficult couple of years, including a months-long shutdown, and the hearing is for us to show cause why our license should be renewed. Programmers have been asked by the board to drum up support in the way of letters of advocacy to the CRTC. Nothing lengthy—a quick paragraph about how CKLN has transformed your life, and how it’s the very reason Marconi invented radio. We stream online, so the letters would not have to come out of Toronto. Some links, if you wanted to familiarize yourself with the station:
