That's alot of Wilco, even by my standards.

Great location though.

Bad link format by me, of course but, you can probably find it.

A Nels Cline guitar pedal demonstration ...! Heh. This'll probably be good. I bet the other performers will be interesting. Not being snarky, I really think that. All those guys have broad musical tastes! Doubt they'll just book, I dunno, My Morning Jacket or something.

tylerw, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:19 (fifteen years ago)

I interviewed Glen Kotche a few years ago and all he wanted to talk about was gamelans.

tylerw, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:20 (fifteen years ago)

and i was all like "whatevs dude, what is the Tweedy REALLY like?"

tylerw, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:22 (fifteen years ago)

and he was all GAMELAN GAMELAN GAMELAN GAMELAN

I'm already in a shame spiral.

kwhitehead, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:27 (fifteen years ago)

hahaha, I was just kidding. i'm a big Wilco fan. (we do already have a ton of Wilco threads though.)

ksh, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:27 (fifteen years ago)

ksh stfu you start a new thread every time one of your bands lets out a fart

Mr. Que, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:28 (fifteen years ago)

you need to smile more often, man

ksh, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:39 (fifteen years ago)

i don't really start many band threads at all anymore, unless we're talking Broken Social Scene, and then i start two

ksh, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:39 (fifteen years ago)

Sorry....

velko, Thursday, 8 April 2010 15:55 (fifteen years ago)

Your point is what, exactly...?

kwhitehead, Thursday, 8 April 2010 16:28 (fifteen years ago)

So who else is performing (the site only mentions Wilco member performances)? They're gonna put tickets on sale for this before they announce the bill. Kinda nervy if you ask me. As someone who got tired of Wilco two cds ago I guess I'm not the target market. http://solidsoundfestival.com/event

curmudgeon, Thursday, 8 April 2010 17:01 (fifteen years ago)

Thanks for brining this back around.

I think that for most serious Wilco fans the fact that Wilco is playing is enough of a draw. Their fans are pretty hardcore and the prospect of spending a weekend with the band is probably enticement enough.

The price doesn't seem that extreme either.

kwhitehead, Thursday, 8 April 2010 17:36 (fifteen years ago)

would totally go to see nels cline fucking around with guitar pedals

m@tt (M@tt He1ges0n), Thursday, 8 April 2010 17:37 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, the Wilco die-hards are ... die-hard. I think their whole upcoming tour is completely sold out. 3-hour sets! http://www.nyctaper.com/?p=2821

tylerw, Thursday, 8 April 2010 17:45 (fifteen years ago)

three years pass...

Anyone going this year? Wilco/Yo La Tengo/Os Mutantes/Neko Case at Mass MoCA sounds pretty perfect to me. Great price too.

In all seriousness, I'm really looking forward to that Broccoli Bar! Always a culinary highlight. And hope to finally get my mitts on a Steve Keene original.

henry s, Monday, 17 June 2024 19:48 (one year ago)

I so wish I was going to this. Killer lineup.

alpine static, Monday, 17 June 2024 19:53 (one year ago)

I was quick scanning the lineup and for a brief instant before I grokked the different categories, I thought maybe Bob Pollard was debuting some new projects on a side stage:

Bees and Thank You
Crooked Stick Pops
Gunther's Sausage Wagon
Pingala Broccoli Bar

one year passes...

Wilco and Billy Bragg will finally perform the songs of Mermaid Avenue together, live for one night only on June 26, 2026 in North Adams, MA.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 23 October 2025 20:40 (two months ago)

Pretty cool, and unexpected. I'd love to go to that festival someday.

alpine static, Thursday, 23 October 2025 21:52 (two months ago)

I've been twice and will be there in 2026! Lots of good stuff to choose from, even if I lost interest in Tweedy's output a decade ago.
