As much as I love Blue and some of Joni's other records, I say that Madonna wins based on Immaculate Collection alone. Right?

xpOh, purely musical affinity. Do like some Madonna but nothing she's ever released has ever come close to the transcendence of a lot of Joni's songs for me. I'm sure you'll get a lot of people voting for Madonna here, though. :)

I guess musical affinity would decide this for most everyone. Madonna has certainly never made an album as great as Blue, or music as challenging or experimental as Mingus or Hejira. But ultimately my musical affinity tends to be songcraft, hooks, and melody. I know there are a lot of Joni lovers on here though.
