starting to get to the point where i remember these pretty vividly. off the top of my head it's air force ones vs wanksta, both were pretty huge for me and my friends at the time.

(The October will come later, obv.)

some kids in my class even had air force ones, which were pretty expensive shoes for kids to be wearing.

4 do that... (i remember loving the hell out of this song when it was out, no idea at all if it's actually good or what)

also dig all my life, make it clap & zephyr song -- beautiful is aight -- don't remember the aaliyah song, the snoop song, the eve song or the pink song

yeah i remember tons of kids around this time doing the whole terry cloth/air force ones thing

I love "Wanksta" so much and wanted to vote for it but it's up against one of the best songs ever. Top 10:

the birdman joint is good because of mannie fresh and only because of mannie fresh

Jazze Pha produced "Do That," so all Mannie really does is say 9 or so words over and over

"Do That" also notable for being the video shoot from which the Baby/Wayne 'kiss' picture surfaced about 4 years later

i can understand the "ignition is overrated" or "ignition is overplayed" or whatever, but hating either of those songs is like.......................................................... not possible, as a human

the beat is weedy and the way the melody just keeps puttering around pointlessly really irritates me

easily my least favourite of r kelly's big singles, and i say this as someone who genuinely loves "i believe i can fly"

i have chocolate factory! it's a great album apart from "ignition"

haha i love how you can pinpoint the exact month ja rule's career ended

in retrospect I have no problem whatsoever with trading Ja Rule for 50 Cent, but I still hate "Wanksta"

yeah "Wanksta" sucks imo, although i think that's probably only marginally less popular an opinion than hating on "Ignition"
