i can think of maybe one song of his that i kinda like
but otherwise i find myself hating him
more for his persona, and general image (and well he doesnt come off the most interesting/inspiring guy in interviews) and the fact his clothing/accessories brand is called rokstarr
anyway, what are his good songs? either his own or for others?

Big fan of 'Come On Girl', but nothing else has left a mark.

even come on girl, like so many of his songs, sound like its been released before its been properly finished. its strange.

getting cheryl cole to namedrop his shitty brand in their song together is just lame though.

also i keep reading that he wrote songs for such and such famous pop artist, but i never hear which songs exactly. must have been the shit ones.

the one with ke$ha sounds like it's going somewhere i want to hear, then doesn't...how frustrating :(

Come on Girl came across my radar because I was a fan of Luciana/Portobella once upon a time, but I've got no axe to grind with the rest of his stuff.

my first impression of him was Primark Ne-Yo, not something I've been able to shake off even if I can't remember what my basis for it was.

I think he's classic, his first album was my background music for months (and I don't mean that as a backhanded insult). Come On Girl was the first song of his that got my attention, but I grew tired of it rather quickly while his more mid-tempo jams kept my attention. New album isn't as strong (although he poached his strongest album track "I'll Never Love Again" from his first album for inclusion on his second) and it severly front-loaded but is still solid.

Was very moved to see the effect, mass singalong and all, of "Dynamite" on a group of 200 9th graders at a recent school event. Then heard it at a wedding last night and figured I should put a name to the song. It's fun to hear Top 40 basically realigning around the aesthetic United State of Electronica were pushing six years ago! Plus, that's a damn great song.

what? it hits whatever the opposite of a sweet spot is by being both really nothingy and really grating - it's a fucking horrible song which sounds completely gross

it makes sense that you like it given that you like kesha iirc! the autotune on both is just a huge obstacle for me - i don't think i even had an issue w/the autotune trend until this year but i find this shit literally unlistenable

TBF my estimation of the tune went up 1,000% after ILM revealed that the chorus is actually "Singing ey-oh/Gallileo".

You haven't really experienced the song until you go to a Bat Mitzvah where they play it twice in a row and a bunch of middle aged folks dance to it while a Michael Scott-like MC shouts the lyrics into a mic.

this song is fine (i have come to grudgingly enjoy it after a period of initial disdain), but it is definitely sub-BEP -- not a step forward from them at all. their mindless party jams have waaay more creative production and stickier hooks.

the melody on "and it goes onanonanONNN...and it goes ONANONANONNN" is my favorite melody of the year

Heard this on the radio the other day and it was better than I expected! Story of Taio Cruz I guess.

i don't think that's the actual video -- after "fuck you" really took off w/ a lyrics video i think labels have started to put songs on youtube w/ videos just like this as a placeholder until a real visual comes out
