when i was fifteen before i knew knew abt screwed n chopped i only knew about trae, but i still had this, like, yearning for ultra deep voice pitch-shifted southern rap so i just listened to 'restless' over and over again.

i do have that z-ro album that the above track is off yeah, pretty good stuff on that.

just reviving this as never saw that quote about driving around before...this song is so amazing, just has that feeling of working a night shift or just not being able to sleep. easily one of my favourite records of all time.

The only place I've heard this kind-of hip hop is blasting from these cars that drive down streets really slowly at night in Brooklyn just blasting this weird kind-of hip-hop. for more whistful dreaminess from h-town but like a decade earlier, you should check out ESG's "Sailin the South" which has that same slow chill melancholy (tho a bit less jazzy)
