call me crazy but i always liked "Mesmerize" way more than the Ja/Ashanti songs that were actually popular. also it's not even the worst soft batch R&B rap song here because... Common featuring Mary J. Blige "Come Close" lyrics poll

"Come Close" is lame but "Mesmerize" is 100% intolerable (and was iirc a pretty big hit)

yeah i know it was 'popular' but i mean it was the one people really rallied around hating whereas "Always On Time" is imo absolutely horrible and was just ubiquitous for a whole year

yeah, "always on time" is their super insipid collabo

I never like "Always on Time" but it seemed much more ignorable to me
