Inspired some of a great composer's greatest music. I got to thinking whether she was significantly involved in performing other music -- the NYT obit mentions a cycle of the Mozart concerti she gave in Paris in the 1960s, but nothing else. After a little digging, I see she recorded Boulez's Structures II performing alongside the composer, and some Schoenberg chamber music , and some Manuel de Falla (!).

Noted on the Messiaen thread yesterday, fwiw.

She also recorded solo Debussy early on: one of the first-recorded complete traversals of the Etudes. Her recording is somewhat legendary among graybeards and has never been on CD. Hate to say it but maybe some of her non-Messiaen recs will finally come out now in some sort of memorial edition.
