first i heard the version by the Pussycat Dolls' Kimberly Wyatt, which is scarily good. then i listened to the original by Jane Child - at least i think that's the original.

anyone else in love with this song? it makes me feel like i'm in florida, under the palm trees, in the middle of the happiest moment of my life.

here's the Kimberly Wyatt version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=raudm08Vo2g

enjoy!

Pretty sure HI DERE is a big fan of the original! I always liked it, great chorus.

LOL at the alignment of the PLAY button and the video still.

The synths on the original are heavy.

I'm pretty sure Jane Child is the first human I ever saw wear a nose ring.

five months pass...

Had completely forgotten about this song but just rediscovered it. I can't even remember if I liked it at the time, but I like it now. What I do remember is it being in the air at some point.

Except I think it might be the Kimberly Wyatt version from a couple years ago, not the 80s original. 2008, that was a long time ago.

I'm really not sure.

The BG music is far too soft in comparison to the bombastic original composition. Just another thing I cannot stand about Electropop: It's a weak imitation of the superior Freestyle genre.

That's not a "laugh track", it's an audience and you're in it. (MintIce), Sunday, 14 November 2010 18:50 (fourteen years ago)

im sure there was an ilx thread specifically about the original jane child song. it's where i heard of it a few years ago anyway and yes GREAT SONG. this cover is unnecessary and pointless. glad to see more freestyle stuff breaking into modern mainstream music, but needs to be done better than this. eagerly awaiting sampling of 'all night passion' and any and all amos larkin iii tracks

This song is awesome but Jane Child always came across as a skeevy version of Taylor Dane

(not "skeevy" as in "trampy" but "skeevy" as in "smells like a dirty diaper")

Well it's all that hair, she couldn't have washed it regularly. Maybe she only did the buzzed part.

i heard what was apparently the kimberly wyatt version of this on a road trip over the summer. i wasn't all that aware of the original but i knew it was a cover and almost drove the gf crazy while trying to remember who did it.

I love how this song features the culmination of THAT particular synth sound.

Jane Child's nose ring didnt freak me out, it was the chain that linked it to her earrings
