I haven't heard of EEminem but I voted for Beyonce anyway. ;)

I just wish he hadn't adopted the "ilxor" moniker (ilxor), Monday, 7 June 2010 19:49 (fifteen years ago)

this is a pretty weak lineup considering what a great year 2003 was for singles. hopefully "Like Glue" will win this easy but i'ma vote for "I'm Glad," one of my favorite J.Lo singles, definitely the best that wasn't a major hit.

some dude, Monday, 7 June 2010 19:50 (fifteen years ago)

"p.i.m.p." is my favorite single off that album, so that.

Am I the only person who loves "Girlfriend"?

Tim F, Tuesday, 8 June 2010 12:12 (fifteen years ago)

it's aight, but the remix and the other Kells/B2K songs out that year (especially "Feelin' Freaky") are way better imo though

ronaldimho (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 13 June 2010 23:21 (fifteen years ago)

I went with Diddy just for Pharrell, and for Lenny Kravitz pulling off a semi-credible James Brown.

I can't imagine voting for anything on this list other than "Like Glue"; in fact, I think I actively hate every other song here.

(Well the Beyonce track is okay)

weird to think 'like glue' peaked at 13, it was such a huge song

teflon donk (samosa gibreel), Monday, 14 June 2010 18:38 (fifteen years ago)

First time I've seen these polls! "Like Glue."

Mexico, camp, horns, Zappa, Mr. Bungle (Matos W.K.), Monday, 14 June 2010 18:42 (fifteen years ago)

Don't hear what you guys do in "Like Glue." Went with "P.I.M.P." but will hate myself in the morning.

some dude, Monday, 14 June 2010 23:18 (fifteen years ago)

I am certain those Aiken votes are 100% serious, but who the hell voted for Eminem

rugged and unrelenting (even brutal) (HI DERE), Tuesday, 15 June 2010 01:02 (fifteen years ago)

If it wasn't for Splash Waterfalls I may well have voted for Mr. Aiken (tbf I haven't heard "like glue" in forever, wasn't really into the sean paul thing when i last did)

da croupier, Tuesday, 15 June 2010 02:52 (fifteen years ago)

'like glue' is absolutely the best sean paul single from this era

its like why GROCERY BAG and not saddam? (deej), Tuesday, 15 June 2010 03:51 (fifteen years ago)

it's ok, but it's always been my least favorite of the Dutty Rock singles, more 7/10 than the all-time awesomeness of "Gimme the Light" or "Get Busy"

Well... no. That would be "Get Busy"

get busy >>>>> like glue >>>> gimme the light

i just find "get busy" a lot more kinetic and danceable, much less static than the others - the way every chord change makes you dance slightly differently

fav deep cuts on dutty rock = "can you do the work?" and "international affair" (the latter of which, i discovered years later, was produced by mark ronson of all people)

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Tuesday, 15 June 2010 08:53 (fifteen years ago)

Secret deep cut on Dutty Rock OBV was "Samfy I".

"Like Glue" pretty amazing. But I think Deej is underrating "Get Busy" here, which I think had a lurid radioactive relentless intensity that other (though possibly equally good) diwali tunes lack.

Anyway saying "not even the best track on that rhythm" when talking about diwali is like saying some jungle tune isn't even the best jungle tune to use an amen break, or some guy wasn't even the hottest guy you saw in Barcelona that day.

Tim F, Tuesday, 15 June 2010 11:57 (fifteen years ago)

i had never heard OF "samfy i" until today - apparently only a bonus cut in a couple of countries, not even on the alb's wiki page! BUT it is great so thx tim
