Maybe I'll poll them if we come up with a few more.
Shan is 100% the winner for me:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkNIHYezNJ0

Did I just name them all?

(i am putting this in parenthesis because its off topic and i don't wanna get hollered at, but i always liked the last line on "midnight" by ice-t cuz he looks at his watch and it's six in the morning, all of a sudden your realize this was the prequel to six in the mornin)

maybe we should have a songs with "twist endings" thread.
― President Keyes, Thursday, 17 June 2010 23:07 (fifteen years ago)
Kanye - "Homecoming" An homage to I Used to Love H.E.R., but about Chicago.
It's not the best twist in the world.

?? I don't think any of these songs wait until the last line to reveal their actual subject matter
― in my day we had to walk 10 miles in the snow for VU bootleg (Shakey Mo Collier), Tuesday, 22 June 2010 16:33 (fourteen years ago)
Homecoming technically doesn't--there's some ad-libbing about Chicago in the beginning, and a chorus after the reveal, and it's pretty obvious what he's talking about the whole time.
But structurally it's pretty damn close to what Chris is looking for, even if it's only cuz it's patterned after Common.
― Parenthetical Grillz, Tuesday, 22 June 2010 21:25 (fourteen years ago)
Also, side note: On Graduation, Homecoming comes shortly after the song with the chorus about Common passing up on a beat. It's funny how much of Graduation is Common-focused.
