Back in the early seventies -- at a party celebrating the End of a Ear release, I gather -- Wyatt fell out of a window. The result was permanent injury and paralysis, and he has been using a wheelchair ever since.

Bushwick Bill was a one-eyed midget. Plus his hands can't be in good shape after that whole concrete-punching incident.

Wesley Willis obviously rears his godlike head in this area as well. The guitarist from Life Without Buildings was on crutches when they supported Belle and Sebastian, whether he's permanently disabled or that was just a one-off... dunno.

Never say Never...Friends have it and swear it's their best release to date. I'ts hrd to come by a copy now.I saw then live last year.Migel wasn't allowed to go on tour with them but a giant banner with his mug strangely brought the aura of him being there. When they lose Migel's psychedelic wanderings it does take something away, but who else is doing music in such an original way?

whats wrong with him
-- born clippy (rimjockey@hotmail.com), August 02, 2002.
Crippling agoraphobia, which makes it very difficult to come out of the recording studio.
Percussionist Evelyn Glennie is deaf, but performs with orchestras by feeling the beat.
Does serious stage fright count? I'm thinking of Andy Partridge (XTC) and Liz Phair.
