one thing I like about this album which sounds kind of contrary to the point of a solo album is that it comes off as a mini-group effort, since Ghost only has two songs by himself on this album.

I liked him when he had more truly solo joints on Supreme Clientele but let's face it, i love wu when it's 3 or more of them on a track even more.

I like the lighter mood RZA inflects too

"Masterpiece" hmmm well now. Not that this isn't near impossible and chock full of goodness. Srsly where to begin?

I've got all the first round releases - but I stopped after the second Meth, Raekwon, GZA etc. albums all sucked

I don't think most of the Wu solo careers could handle the RZA's abdication of production, with a few few exceptions (Ghost, ODB). Took awhile for most of them to figure out who to use besides RZA, some still haven't figured it out...

I think "winter warz" was originally a cappa solo track on the soundtrack to don't be a menace to south central

I haven't listened to this album in many many years guess I gotta check it out tonight

shakey i think the third gza album (legend of the liquid sword) is pretty awesome

yeah I'm not denying that there's good stuff after the first round - it just took some time for Rae and GZA to kinda figure out how to work effectively without the RZA imho. Ghost didn't really have this problem for some reason...

Iron Maiden, 260, Daytona 500, and Motherless Child are pretty much the only ones that really stuck with me. Daytona 500 is my go to track here. I love the production on that one - keeping it simple with turntables and rhymes - I wish more hip hop tracks would strip it down like this.

IRON MAIDEN! I think THIS is Cappa's best verse on the album.
