You may be on to something pretty profound there, something to do with functionality and efficiancy meaning every part of the music is doing what it's supposed to do with no lumps of fat or gristle. If your gonna have a hook, why not have 5? There's no laziness there, no sign of "oh lets just repeat those 4 bars a couple more times" German manufactured pop captures more of the essence of Germans than anything, except possibly their cars.
