Steve Mason's solo album 'Boys Outside' is a melancholy wonder.

Ikonika: What is this sound called? fyi I don't really see the appeal, it sounds like generic video game soundtracks.

one man meme-denier - jol in? (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:06 (fifteen years ago)

Guido: This is much more enjoyable. Is there an actual album/tape/comp worth checking? Is this just good dubstep or is there a more r&b influenced scene to look out for?

one man meme-denier - jol in? (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:09 (fifteen years ago)

i guess it's the genre formerly known as dubstep which no one can think of a name for yet

she said she grew up with games in one ear and garage in the other, which will do for a concise description.

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:09 (fifteen years ago)

guido's album = anidea and yes, check it! (only vocals on two of the tracks though) (r&b is pretty huge in the, uh, post-dubstep scene - i'm djing an r&b night with ikonika on thu! she always drops the-dream or electrik red into her sets)

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:10 (fifteen years ago)

guido = ordered :)

one man meme-denier - jol in? (a hoy hoy), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:23 (fifteen years ago)

david sylvian - manafon. from late last year but one of those records that you'll want to live with for a long time. just voice and various improvised instruments

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=scBpZvXHP5g

so gorgeous

不合作的方式 (r1o natsume), Tuesday, 20 July 2010 12:48 (fifteen years ago)

Richard Youngs - Beyond The Valley Of Ultrahits

the Forest Swords - 'Dagger Paths' LP sounded promising, but i'm still on the wagon for psych improv type shit. likewise for the Part Wild Horses... LP. mileage may vary.

The Irrepressibles. Have no idea why they haven't blown up yet. Too similar to Anthony & The Johnsons?
