When a video's being budgeted, the label solicits pitches from directors or producers, which often begin with something along the lines of "The essence of this song is vast and sweeping. We open on Axl at a piano in the desert." Reverse engineering a pitch is usually not that hard but I mean there are a lot of questions in my mind about this one

"As we pull back, the dancers are revealed, by the graceless somersaults they execute, to be members of Steve's road crew."

At that point in the 80s, the pitch was usually "Cocaine! Lots of it!"

"Stevie, we want to make a video where you treat a synth like a pretty woman."

"Steve's performance throughout remains detached and disinterested. At all times, he gives the impression that he thinks the shoot is a dry run, or that he is only blocking the video and that the real performance will be undertaken by someone else."

Roll.
Hug.
Hug... no wait, we're not done rolling yet. Now hug.
Mysterious woman's hand appears, dripping in blood.

had this been the album title instead of Arc of a Diver, the eighties might have turned out different - butterfly in the himalayas effect y'know

"Steve ponders whether this is a synth or a vaulting horse. Then we have some lame primary school PE lesson forward rolls."

Director can't decide whether to rip off Peter Gabriel or John Foxx.

"Off-screen, a few psychics among the crew snicker at the fate of Billy Squier. Where is your swagger now, last year's man? Simply by remaining tethered to the two x's on the floor in front of his Prophet 10, Steve has avoided the disaster that will one day end your career."

all right Alfred I got yours
A blurred screen of cascading white and grey haze fades into background as we resolve on Steve in a purple shirt and sport jacket. A sourceless wind blows in his hair as he sings the song. We cut to footage of a woman in white who dances in slow motion. At the end of the first chorus, superimpose water in a whirlpool over Steve's hands on the keyboard. Toward the end of the second verse, we recall the woman in white, now heavily dosed with narcotics and unsure of her footing. As the wind blows and the water swirls around the keyboard during the synth solo, we grow restless owing to a general lack of visual interest but Steve does not; in the bridge that follows, he appears to be addressing some people across the street. As the final chorus ends, we clock out.

We need a general video pitch reconstruction thread. (Hell, at this point I'd've start a blog, but it's aerosmith's world and we are all just lucky invitees.)
