Oh man, impossible decision. I love love love the Archies SOOOO much, but the Pussycats, man, especially if you add the 00s era movie.

I think if the 00s movie were included, Pussycats. But since it's just about the earlier stuff, Archies. That Barry/Greenwich production just totally hits my sweet spot every time.

Timely poll, I've been playing my Josie cd a lot this week.

Josie FTW plus they have a great back-story about the producers standing up to the studio bosses about casting a black actress. When they turned up for the next recording session it was packed with Wrecking Crew guys, and when the producer protested that they couldn't afford them they said they were donating their time because of the producers' civil rights stand.

Not surprisingly, those Josie tracks sound glorious.

The Pussycats' just don't have a "Sugar Sugar" on their resume. Truthfully, I don't remember anything by them; "The Tra La La Song (One Banana, Two Banana)" is my next favourite out of that posse.

I think the only Josie songs I know are from the movie!

I always saw Josie as an intrusion on my Archie comics, but not near as bad as Sabrina. Both had better media incarnations later on (I love the movie of Josie & the tv show of Sabrina is a nostalgic bit of fun).

I'd agree Sugar Sugar beats all, but aside from that Josie's Motown-soul beats Archie's bubblegum.

I read this thread before falling asleep last night. goddamn you all. i actually had a dream that i was at a josie show, our eyes (josie and me) met during the concert, and things got hot and heavy backstage...but since itw as a dream, everyone was watching and i was banned from ever seeing them again, josie was kicked out and they were for some raeson renamed the P-P-Pussycats
