لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Saturday, 7 August 2010 12:21 (fifteen years ago)

might vote "need you now" on the basis that it's the best lady antebellum song while "love story" isn't taylor's

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Saturday, 7 August 2010 12:21 (fifteen years ago)

1. Don't Stop Believing
2. Love Story

^^^ these two are oddly similar in some ways

3. Bad Romance
4. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
5. Need You Now
6. Viva La Vida (lol)

Tim F, Saturday, 7 August 2010 12:27 (fifteen years ago)

Tim F, Saturday, 7 August 2010 12:29 (fifteen years ago)

Also it's totally a song Taylor would write.

Tim F, Saturday, 7 August 2010 12:29 (fifteen years ago)

what, it's a great song! besides, you don't want to piss off Tony Soprano, do you?

i've never knowingly heard jason mraz

ballerrr (The Reverend), Saturday, 7 August 2010 14:50 (fifteen years ago)

I like all of the following, mostly from the bottom half of the list.

Taylor Swift, "Love Story"
Katy Perry, "Hot N Cold"
Beyonce, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"
Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Kanye West, "Stronger"
Miley Cyrus, "Party In The U.S.A."
Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now"
Leona Lewis, "Bleeding Love"
Rihanna, "Disturbia"
Pink, "So What"
Lil Wayne featuring Static Major, "Lollipop"
Journey, "Don't Stop Believin'"
T.I. featuring Rihanna, "Live Your Life"

I'm going with Perry's "Hot N Cold" since I think I might be the only person here who likes that song a lot, although my favorite version of it is an impromptu a cappella rendition Taylor Swift performed while being interviewed on the red carpet just prior to some award show. Unfortunately, I can't remember which award show. Unfortunately, I've never been able to track a down a clip of it on youtube. At any rate, it was fabulous.

MumblestheRevelator, Saturday, 7 August 2010 15:17 (fifteen years ago)

i am torn b/w "crank that" "love story" and "i gotta feeling"

let's not speak about the jason mraz

iatee, Saturday, 7 August 2010 17:43 (fifteen years ago)

I fuck with:
Soulja Boy Tell'Em, "Crank That (Soulja Boy)"
Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Journey, "Don't Stop Believin'"

like aiight:
Flo Rida featuring T-Pain, "Low"
Coldplay, "Viva La Vida"
Beyonce, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"

of the first three it's really between bad romance & don't stop believin and part of me wants to go with don't stop believin but tbh I think I'm going with bad romance here

frap rock (crüt), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:08 (fifteen years ago)

my conclusion: God is dead, music is dead

frap rock (crüt), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:09 (fifteen years ago)

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:16 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno, guys

people have some revisionist history ish like POP MUSIC WAS SO GOOD! MICHAEL JACKSON BILLIE JEAN!

But then really it was Toto and Chicago and "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" and shit.

parsley, sage, rosemary and GUCCI TIME (Whiney G. Weingarten), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:19 (fifteen years ago)

I didn't say music being dead was a new thing

music never had a chance imo

frap rock (crüt), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

Quo riff just isn't a suitable vehicle for interplanetary exploration (Ioannis), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:29 (fifteen years ago)

i could name a lot of great successful pop singles for each year between 00 and 08 but not between 09 and 10

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:33 (fifteen years ago)

not for 09 and 10*

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:34 (fifteen years ago)

i guess it's all about production trends?

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:35 (fifteen years ago)

J0rdan S., Saturday, 7 August 2010 18:45 (fifteen years ago)

A solo Beatle--Paul, George, John, Yoko, etc. (Whitey on the Moon), Sunday, 8 August 2010 01:18 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Wednesday, 11 August 2010 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

The Reverend, Thursday, 12 August 2010 05:48 (fifteen years ago)

beyonce btw

The Reverend, Thursday, 12 August 2010 05:49 (fifteen years ago)

Beyonce - Single Ladies though I am tired of every gay man still referencing it to me (it's been two years and she has other songs in her catalog yeesh!!!). If Lady Gaga - Paparazzi was on that list it would've taken my vote.

lilsoulbrother, Thursday, 12 August 2010 06:20 (fifteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Thursday, 12 August 2010 23:01 (fifteen years ago)

Okay I realize most of you find "Stronger" to be Kanye's worst single, but it deserved at least one vote to separate it from that awful fucking Train song.

he's always been a bit of an anti-climb Max (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Friday, 13 August 2010 04:44 (fifteen years ago)

that train song shits all over "stronger" imo, as do a handful of other train songs

k3vin k., Friday, 13 August 2010 05:10 (fifteen years ago)

Beyonce, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)"
Lady Gaga, "Bad Romance"
Taylor Swift, "Love Story"
Journey, "Don't Stop Believin'"
Lady Antebellum, "Need You Now"
Rihanna, "Disturbia"
Train, "Hey, Soul Sister"

^i'll stan for these, and like a few others

k3vin k., Friday, 13 August 2010 05:13 (fifteen years ago)

"hey soul sister" is the worst single of this year

The Reverend, Saturday, 14 August 2010 07:40 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, seriously, i bet y'all like that new sheryl crow song, too

christopher dullan (Tape Store), Saturday, 14 August 2010 08:03 (fifteen years ago)

y'all being just k3vin, it appears
