I guess "Egg Man" isn't too jazzy either. Maybe would've switched that one for something from Ill Communication like "Sure Shot" or Flute Loop"

I never ever get sick of "Summertime" but seriously how can you say that song is any less overplayed than "El Segundo" or "Supersonic"

& actually, its not like anyone plays summertime for 8 months of the year in chicago so

i dunno man, i just can't picture hearing any of those songs except "Summertime" and "No Diggity" outside of an 'old school' mix, let alone at a wedding, so it seemed like an odd way to frame the complaint. not gonna defend Digable Planets or anything though.

supersonic, for sure. they also play 'meeting in the ladies room' by klymaxx & other shit. lots of clubs cover this kinda post-holleurtronix broad 80s-90s pop catalog stuff

el segundo is less common i think it hurts in my memory bcuz of how much better the next too records were.
