Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, Eagles, Bruce Springsteen for me.

Only in a poll pitting them against Status Quo would I have voted for the Eagles.

wow i literally don't have an opinion on any of these people. well, i dislike what i've heard of bon jovi and springsteen, but not even to smoke cloud of pure hatred levels.

At this point, I am voting for people I have never heard AGAINST people I cannot stand. What an odd way to go about things.

Except Neil Diamond. He is an utterly brilliant songwriter, his work in the bubblegum pop era is untouchable.

Aznavour has written some awesome songs. Seriously, he has to win this against *ugh* Bon Jovi. Come on, people.

Have always wanted to like Status Quo more than I do (including the old $1 LP I listened to last week), don't know Charles What's His Face at all, only care about Neil Diamond through 1970 or so, like the first few Dire Straits LPs fine, and wonder about Modern Talking (who I may or may not have ever heard) because I'm pretty sure somebody called them Italodisco on this board once, but still:

Oops, I copied that wrong; should've been:

Bon Jovi, Neil Diamond, Eagles, Bruce Springsteen

Sorry Status Quo (and George, if you're seeing this). Maybe if I checked out more Status Quo I'd like them more, though.

oh god Bon Jovi vs. Charles Aznavour. Way to make me vote for some French music I know nothing about. (I'm surprised by the number of French artists on this list. The French spend lots of money on music or something? Are these guys big in former French colonies too?) I actually like Dire Straits a bit (which I imagine most ILM posters do not), but I'll go with Neil Diamond. I like a bunch of early Eagles songs. Not really into what I'm hearing of Status Quo on youtube. Springsteen over Modern Talking who sound like standard 80s crap to me based on quick youtube research, although I'd be content never to hear any Springsteen again for the rest of my life.

Charles Aznavour, Neil Diamond, Eagles, Bruce Springsteen

The first time I remember even hearing of Charles Aznavour was on the first Psychedelic Furs record. (Also the first time I remember hearing Goa mentioned. That first Furs record was almost as educational as stamp collecting had been.)

Charles Aznavour, Dire Straits, Eagles, Bruce Springsteen

Checking out Azanvour on youtube and regretting I didn't vote for Bon Jovi, but it's a lose-lose choice.

_Rudipherous_, Tuesday, 17 August 2010 13:50 (fifteen years ago)

On the other hand, a little quick looking around turns up the fact that Neil Diamond has done even more songs I like than I had realized. I need to add him to my collection.

Charles Aznavour is so awesome to me now. Bon Jovi was so awesome to me when I was 13. Going with Charles.

^ Have to admit that I have a soft spot for this too. Anyone else think he sings like Tom Rapp?
