one of the many reasons i like this song is b/c it's appropriate for all occasions. you could be having the worst day of your life or the best or both or neither and this song would soundtrack it well

also it makes j. mascis look like a generation pepsi over-achiever, which i guess is saying something

still waiting for the proper revival of grunge when donna summer hits her slacker diva-dom in full stride. but aren't we all?

this is such a good song. And you're right about its bittersweet or jack of all trades quality. It's a triumphant shrug.

it's weird. didn't bandwagonesque make number one record in spin magazine circa 1992? which is kind of a huge deal. so does that mean it beat out slanted and enchanted? if TF-celebrating in america had been driven to its farthest logical extension, then would we have had countless big star-influenced bands sitting atop the charts as opposed to endless sub-pearl jam knockoffs that plagued us in the nineties?

i remember catching them on snl during that period, and i was like 'whoa'. i never was much into that record, but they did look great on tv! excessive hair that somehow occupied just the right side of unfashionableness, and you could almost smell the cannabis (or whatever you guys call it over there)radiating off of their guitar pickups

iirc it was 1991 and beat out "Nevermind"

I read about it in all these fascinating pseudo-nostalgic magazines from the 90's that I buy
