has anybody seen it yet? (sorry if this has been done, I've been away)

Haven't seen it yet man but from what I have been told, the Channel 4 Factory Records doc (which I did see, and tape) is infinitley more amusing. The sight of Shaun Ryder, as his is today, barely able to breathe and having to hold his arm to stop the shakes is a powerful vision. Mix this in with Tony's bullshit stroke mythologising, Hannett firing a gun at an interviewer, Bez waving his arms around, all googly eyed going off about factory getting "well stalked" by the Mondays, and Hooky bemoaning the demise of the Hacienda and you have first class entertainment which withstands repeated laughter-inducing viewings.

Decent enough film, Coogan plays it too close to Partridge at times, and you have to like the Mondays to actually enjoy the second half of the film, and Ian Curtis' suicide is quite funny, but apart from that... definitely top ten films of the year so far.

boring to sit through, not boring to talk about (scroll down and see if you agree) (then scroll further: queen of the damned is infinitely better haha) (actually it is)

I wish I'd waited til I got the DVD and watched it alone, at home. Sharing the experience with hundreds of posers, expatriates and hipster indie kids kinda spoiled the whole thing. I couldn't tell if Vini Reilly was being patronised or not.
