i've heard good things about them, but I appeal to ILM's collective genius to fill me in.

I've just listened to the new album (it finished about five seconds ago) and it's a glorious collage of fucked-up-ness for the discerning. The above mentioned track is fine, but so's much of the rest of it. very silly and and all over the shop. I like it after one listen, and it's not some Peaches clone.

Cobra Killer are one of the best bands I have ever seen live!!!
I realy like their stuff!!! The third armpit is better then the first release I think... I love "Scooba" and " Cobra Movement".
Heard about an sols album of Annika Trost comming out soon...
Did anybody know anything `bout it?

I haven't heard the new album yet, but I love the first one. Also EC8OR is worth checking out. They had some dispute with that idiot Alec Empire and found out they were dropped from DHC by reading about it on a web site.

Who are the Peaches clones, anyway?

P.S. why did a thread from August suddenly appear, today Dec. 27, among the New Answers?

I wonder if I'm the only one who's reminded a little bit of Whale when listening to 76/77...

Also, they get huge bonus points for building a song around a sample of "Camel Walk" by Southern Culture on the Skids.

i really liked bits of the trost record from last year.

gaz (gaz), Thursday, 7 October 2004 04:05 (twenty years ago)

they also gt points for building two songs around monks samples. 76/77 has some really great songs.

el sabor de gene (yournullfame), Thursday, 7 October 2004 05:29 (twenty years ago)

they must be experienced live. They're hilarious.

THEY SEEM PRETTY HOT...ARE THEY?

< /perv >

DEEBZ (ddb), Thursday, 7 October 2004 14:03 (twenty years ago)

They are hot, in that "if I acknowledged you exist, I'd tell you to move" sort of way.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 8 October 2004 17:40 (twenty years ago)

I have this album, I like the song "Cobra Movement" best, and I dunno if it's just me but "I like it when it burns a bit" is a tad filthy.

Don't get all puritanical on us, jel.

Johnny Fever (johnny fever), Friday, 8 October 2004 18:22 (twenty years ago)

The reasons they are great live, apart from the music, are as follows:

* They fall off stage

*they parade around with big white flags looking very serious

*they pour red wine over their own heads

In the 'the hell?...wait, this is fucking great!' category, y'all have to check out Das Mandolinorchester, which is Cobra Killer plus a mandolin-based folk band Kapajkos rerecording a bunch of older Cobra Killer songs live in studio. A total headfuck and absolutely fantastic, the band themselves are badasses on their instruments and they can do the high speed stuff like nobody's business.

Just discover the Mandolinorchester album, and it's ace! So much so that I felt like reviving the thread and inviting people to join in praising Cobra Killer.

Daniel Giraffe (Daniel Giraffe), Tuesday, 29 August 2006 10:23 (eighteen years ago)

Cobra Killer pulled out of a festival I attended in June because they were only booked a two-star hotel. Lovely

DJ Mencap (DJ Mencap), Tuesday, 29 August 2006 10:58 (eighteen years ago)

plus, you can like, see that chick's butt on that one album cover and everything...

hank (hank s), Tuesday, 29 August 2006 13:42 (eighteen years ago)

I just emusic'd 76/77 and I have been *very* happy with it. I like it when it burns a little. Anyone who can seemlessly mix rockabilly and eurotrash electro is fine by me.
