I don't care if it's been discussed in the endless Rolling Metal thread, All The Waters Of The Earth Turn To Blood by THE BODY deserves it's own thread...

...because this album is devastatingly good. Discuss.

so happy when dudes who have been toiling away fer years get their due, especially pvd dudes (well, pvd by way of little rock)

record release show for this was epic, 5 drummers + the assembly of light choir

Whoa. Wish I was there. At the moment I'm trying to convince my gal to drive three and a half hours to see these dudes next month (on my birthday!)

The Pitchfork review for this was dead on (shoulda given it a '10' though). Really, can't see anything bumping this from the #1 slot on my 2010 top ten. SUCH a fucking great record.

I know this was likely not the intended effect, but this album actually put me in a good mood.

show opened similar to the album with a long hypnotic intro by the choir, when the band came in I jumped like it was a shock scene in a horror movie

i think this album is corny as fuck in like a "bad mr. bungle" way

i'm gonna give it another chance tho

even if you don't like them "bad mr. bungle" is way off base

they're a two-piece doom rock band who broadened their palette with a little help from their friends

^ ps that phrase does not constitute hearing the beatles in public

Heading up my album of the year list. Grabbed it from a blog, sat listening at work really unnerved, ordered a few days later (saw the Pitchfork review go up & thought I'd better order the vinyl quick).

So there's an earlier album right? Worth getting?

Wandering Boy Poet, Wednesday, 25 August 2010 12:14 (fifteen years ago)

Not sure - I'm new to this band as well. I did just order their first album though, through Corleone Records.

Because of this thread I decided to check them out. this record is blowing me away. Its sort of like if Monoliths and Dimensions had some serious drums.

As I said on the rolling metal thread, I like this a lot.

tracked this down because of this thread and it's pretty massive. not sure how "disturbing" or whatever it is, but it sure rocks.

prefer the s/t album to the new one tbh

it's good they branched out and didn't just make the same album again, but the s/t sounds like what I think of when I think of the body, stripped-down no-frills knuckle-dragging sludge
