prime me up. I've been listening to a lot of Muddy Waters and JL Hooker, which I love. I'm a fan of electric blues....

You could do a lot worse than investigate some of the heavier hitters on the fat Possum label - namely RL Burnside, T-Model Ford and (my personal fave) Junior Kimbrough.

But really it depends on what you're into. Dig harp players? Check out Sonny Terry. Like guitarists? Albert King is your man. Etc etc.

Me, I wish most blues were instrumental. Unless it's Howlin Wolf (or, err, Beefheart) I rarely enjoy blues singers (and their ubiquitously dunderheaded lyrics).

Another favorite of mine is the duo of Elmo Williams and Hezikiah Early. Those guys are pretty much the distillation of the sorta fucked up dirty blues I enjoy.

Or, you know, you can just listen to Clear Spot.
