been listening a lot to O.G. and I like how he hops between thematic elements and added some depth to gangsta rap, and how he alternated between smooth and aggressive flow. plus dude is just so damned cool.

So what was his Battle of Algiers? (Body Count albums are not being used in this poll)

Aw shit, it's between The Iceberg and O.G. but don't ask me to call it.

OG

OG had to be his biggest album, even I had it.

That one tune that sampled the song Black Sabbath was pretty killer.

OG is just so diverse

OG has got his gangsta stuff, his metal stuff, his storyteller stuff, his political stuff and, yeah, the Black Sab sample. And i think it's the one that has his funniest skit ("I fucked her")

though I open a whole lot of my DJ sets with "Shut Up, Be Happy" fwiw

the Sabbath sample is awesome. it fits in perfectly.

also love that some of the songs are short snippets (like "Ed"), fits the whole 'concept album' motif.

Dude is totally top 5 MCs of all time for me. OG paints a lot of great pictures. Pulse of the Rhyme is one of my favorite tracks. So good.

nine years pass...

I really didn't like
How this shit was goin' down
Wrong night, wrong time
Wrong fuckin' part of town
Ya see we was deep
In the Hoover's hood
Three n****s bleedin'
That shit don't look good!
See over there red don't go
Some places red's all they know
But not our luck
Tonight we was real fucked
Broke down an alley
And we instantly had to duck
Fuckin' police on a gang sweep
No time to deal with one time
So we had to creep

I guess Ice was wrong about Shawny Mac blowing up despite his dope demo tape
