So, I've recently fallen in love with this record, can anyone here suggest something that has this vibe, that could scratch the same itch? Thanks in advance!

this album fucking rules. yet another joy that I have to thank Jim O'Rourke for...

Yes but Stormy- what else would have the same effect?!?!?! Ahhhhh! Help.

man, I'm not sure! I'm drinking Colt 45 and listening to Steve Miller band so I'm probably not much help, but if I recall it always put me in the mind of the more disjointed later Cluster stuff, I'm thinking of their 'Curiosum' LP from the early 80s specifically ... kind of bloopy and wicked , but without the drone that characterized their earlier work... I will pull out the Nuno again after the Miller finishes..

it is really good, that's all I'm saying

I can see (hear) the Cluster yeah, though I haven't heard the one you mention. Or have I? I dunno. Well, if anyone gets some ideas, shoot.

the mokai reish is a tru desert island disc for me too, but part of the appeal is that there's nothing else quite like it out there - nearest thing i can think of, and even that's not so v. close, is 'automatic writing' by robert ashley, which has some of the same disassociated ghost voice whisper vibe
there's also this on mutant sounds:

"Crimine", esp when the flute comes in, is my jam.

definitely check out Francois Bayle's L'experience Acoustique, and Erosphere (latter's on Mutant Sounds). (and in a similar vein, Bernard Parmegiani - Creation du Monde & De Natura Sonorum)
Plux Quba definitely has its own thing going, though. when he opens up the digital textures into those new agey chords it sure is lovely

man, sure is a beautiful album. just when you think you've got it figured out, it just sidesteps you

Thanks Ward. Thanks Milton. Everyone. Checking these out now. On another note, how much does Mutant Sounds fucking rule? Jesus.

Sooo…. “how do you feel about Plux Quba clones?” is not a matter I'd been confronted with previously:

yeah, it's alright. dunno. if i wanna hear plux quba i'll listen to plux quba. the nice thing about that album is it's not coated in reverb. absolutely dog tired of hearing crap reverb all over anything abstract-leaning...

crap reverb
possibly the Rabelais influence alluded to in the blurb
