UGK were never a gangsta rap group about wordplay and metaphor as much as just sounding dangerous and cocky - their lyrics were engaging and yet straightforward gangsta terror. two great MCs, and one that doubled as a great producer. Pimp C rest in peace.

I vote Ridin' Dirty mostly because of the melancholy atmosphere of "One Day", the amusing novelty of "Fuck My Car", and the general awesomeness of "Touched". The production on this was warm and just a bit tighter than their other albums.

in general they were pretty spot on with their albums though, and lean (in the early days).

I love that one. the only one I don't own is the debut (well and Side Hustles). there's something about the Super Tight/Ridin' Dirty era that makes it my favorite, I think largely the production or just how chill and commanding both Bun/Pimp's delivery was, as well as the catchy yet easy to digest lyrics.

still tho it's not like they ever really dropped off :(. RIP Pimp C. UGK Kings probably one of my favorite rap albums of the last 5 years.
