anyways "MC Hammer"

I GOT 30 CARS!!!!!

suckin deez in belize (The Brainwasher), Monday, 6 September 2010 03:38 (fifteen years ago)

the one without gucci tho his verse is kinda pointless

suckin deez in belize (The Brainwasher), Monday, 6 September 2010 03:39 (fifteen years ago)

i liked that on his blog tom b compared the "b.m.f." beat to sabbath

i posted this in the ross thread but i would really love to hear a marching band do some of these joints -- the synth riffs would kill as big brassy horn blasts

anyway i'm voting for "hard in da paint" -- it's about quite even with "b.m.f." with me & even tho "b.m.f." has the immortal chorus, there's still something about "hard in the paint" that i like better -- maybe it's those little clicks in the beat -- maybe it's cuz i heard it first

"b.m.f." is definitely the car song of the summer tho -- shit seriously makes you feel invincible

J0rdan S., Monday, 6 September 2010 03:42 (fifteen years ago)

yeah the only reason I went with "mc hammer" is cuz it isn't as played out to me as the other two at the mo, but really all 3 tracks are kind of classic and ur right about bmf's chorus being "immortal," and co-sign on wanting to hear a marching band cover of BMF I'm sure that has probably happened already

voted "MC Hammer" by default but i only 'like' it compared to the others. fuck these songs being called immortal classics, they're dogshit compared to any comparable crunk hit from like 2000-2004.

some dude, Friday, 10 September 2010 17:25 (fifteen years ago)

hard in da paint stands up with the great crunk shit imo

It is hilarious how literally all of his tracks, even the most random ones, sound exactly the same

I imagine him playing like 35 beats for a rapper and the guy slipping into a trance after 8 mins and not waking up for 2 hours

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 September 2010 17:41 (fifteen years ago)

i was at a mc/producer battle a couple months ago, every other beat was generic drumma boi/shawty redd knockoff shit with the stuttering hi-hats, any one of those beats was as good as any of these

some dude, Friday, 10 September 2010 17:57 (fifteen years ago)

ehhhh

J0rdan S., Friday, 10 September 2010 19:46 (fifteen years ago)

"BMF" is a great poll option

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Friday, 10 September 2010 19:48 (fifteen years ago)

"hard in da paint"

don't f/w "BMF", and i like a handful of ross songs

max skim (k3vin k.), Friday, 10 September 2010 20:07 (fifteen years ago)

i am glad that all these songs are bigger than the VERY IMPORTANT KANYE AND BEYONCE SONG

& deej is a contrarian so his opinion doesn't count either

Whiney G. Weingarten, Tuesday, 14 September 2010 00:41 (fifteen years ago)

hating on BMF is depressing.

cars go by repeatedly bumping BMF for a whole summer and as a rap fan you jsut shake your head unapprovingly with arms folded

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Tuesday, 14 September 2010 00:42 (fifteen years ago)

u guys are getting high on your own supply

popular = / good

*sets trend* (deej), Tuesday, 14 September 2010 01:00 (fifteen years ago)

these songs are good

banaka socka flame (J0rdan S.), Tuesday, 14 September 2010 01:03 (fifteen years ago)

but popular = / bad either

it's not like that song was popular on top 40 radio or like everyone's little sister was singing it. it's popular among rap fans because it is good.

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Tuesday, 14 September 2010 01:09 (fifteen years ago)

ehh BMF isn't all that, ross's flow on that is even lamer than usual, and i like a handful of rawse songs

k3vin k., Tuesday, 14 September 2010 01:13 (fifteen years ago)

i might have made that post already

k3vin k., Tuesday, 14 September 2010 01:13 (fifteen years ago)

"hard in da paint" slays the other two - more interesting and more dynamic beat as well as not having big wheezy puffing all over it.

yes

swvl, Thursday, 28 October 2010 23:47 (fifteen years ago)

three months pass...

i assume that in miami they play ace hood, at least 10x as much as anywhere else (at minimum), so i hear this new ace single prod by lex more often than i prob would've liked but i like the remix actually & now i think the whole thing is pretty fucking great

i think this is one of lex's better beats, the minor keys are a nice touch compared to the huge riffs on these three songs -- the hook starts to sound less lugheaded the more you hear it too

i mean you have to like/still have a tolerance for ross & wayne to really get into the remix (the first ace verse goes, too), but i fuck w/ ross of course & can stand wayne on this song, so i bang it now

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:25 (fifteen years ago)

the ross verse is straight up great, even tho it sounds like he recorded it with a cold?

J0rdan S., Thursday, 3 February 2011 22:27 (fifteen years ago)

b/w this & the "roman's revenge" remix it does seem like wayne has moved the grocery bag era forward by just completely eliminating the pause <--- important development
