No thread on Chollie's music, which I've always found somewhere between merely compelling and extremely beautiful. Anyway, dude has a new album out (the first of a planned series of four) on the unlikely Magic Bullet label (who also just released retrospective 2xCD / LP / DVD of, err, Christie Front Drive), and it's pretty great.

Weird. So I recently pulled out this silly book I have called alt.culture: An A-To-Z Guide to the '90S-Underground. Just this morning I read the section on Manson. Part that stuck out the most was he was only 5'2"

Yeah "Always is Always Forever" is incredible. EXACTLY what you would imagine from a hippy death cult. Creepy and folky and just plain badass.

shakey, you really mean LIE or The Family Jams/Manson Family Sings?
cuz the freakouts on LIE are no more unlistenable than Amon Duul or Cromagnon or any other hippie acid folk jamz and actually have some thematic structure (Ego, Mechanical Man). Manson could write some real songs w/ pretty melodies which is why Dennis got snookered. always loved that it was supposedly recorded in Brian's home studio while he was freaking out/stuck in bed upstairs. look at your game, girl
