"so seductive" is such a gay song

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 03:37 (fifteen years ago)

"Outta Control" was my favorite single of the entire '00s...although I don't necessarily know the remix, unless that's the hit version.

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 03:37 (fifteen years ago)

"outta control" beat is probably the best production imo

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 03:37 (fifteen years ago)

ha, "Disco Inferno" was when I started liking 50

didn't vote for it tho

lord that song is fucking shit

'i get money' is probably the last straight-up classic g-unit single to me

trollin trollin trollin we aint slept in weeks (deej), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 03:43 (fifteen years ago)

damn so many classics on this list

i miss g-unit

yeah i don't think that's challenging, unless you're a ny fetishist who considers "beamer, benz, bentley" a classic

i look back fondly on tony yayo, he was weirdly charismatic on the low

r|t|c, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 10:21 (fifteen years ago)

this is between 'outta control' and 'stunt 101' - will probably vote latter when i should former

r|t|c, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 10:26 (fifteen years ago)

WHERE'S THE ORIGINAL VERSION OF "OUTTA CONTROL"??!?? Fuck that remix horseshit.

"Let Me In" or "I Get Money"

interk3llar overdrive (Whiney G. Weingarten), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:33 (fifteen years ago)

the original "outta control" is incredible, would've prob voted for it. don't care for the remix as much.

1. ayo technology
2. get buck
3. hate it or love it
4. poppin' them thangs

^^all classics to me.

many of the rest i don't remember at all.

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:37 (fifteen years ago)

someone clarify me what the remix issue is with 'outta control'? i know there's an unrelated track on the massacre called the same but the popular one that was in the charts i recall as originally being 'outta control (remix)' - presumed it was a remix of a mobb deep solo cut that 50 jumped on iirc

r|t|c, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:46 (fifteen years ago)

It's hard to decide between Disco Inferno, Window Shopper and Candy Shop. All of them are great Fifty cuts.

I've played polar pool for far too long (MintIce), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

yeah this is the original album version that i love -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-4U4NvKnfSM

and this is the remix that got in the charts, that appears to have nothing in common with the original - i presumed it was a "remix" like a "part 2" or something

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:49 (fifteen years ago)

top 10 for me:
1. Hate It Or Love It
2. I Get Money
3. On Fire
4. So Seductive
5. How We Do
6. I Know You Don't Love Me*
7. Hustler's Ambition
8. Stunt 101
9. Best Friend*
10. Get Up*

* not options on poll

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:54 (fifteen years ago)

xp oh right ok, now i listen again they are sort of related.

you people are insane thinking it comes within a million miles of the remix though.

r|t|c, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:54 (fifteen years ago)

voted for "On Fire" because it's not getting enough love here

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 13:55 (fifteen years ago)

oh yeah good call with 'best friend' (another one with the confusing remix/part 2 treatment iirc?), so slept on

r|t|c, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 14:00 (fifteen years ago)

all the jerk music "teach me how to" songs shoulda been called "Jerk 101," "Dougie 101," etc.

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 14:06 (fifteen years ago)

al's top three would be my top three. still kinda bugged out after all these years that eminem ever had a hand in a beat that good.

"beat that good" = "on fire" of course.

hypnosis is the reason some Jewish people backed him → (will), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:22 (fifteen years ago)

my bad on leaving out "i know you don't love me" -- foolish to assume that there was more than one tony yayo song that people cared about

"ayo technology" is good but the bootleg version that cut out all the 50 verses is better

i assume stephen ilxor has jumped the stars of the lid boxset & is now just openly trolling

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:36 (fifteen years ago)

banks really was a good rapper once upon a time -- i think he has all the best verses on those g-unit songs

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:36 (fifteen years ago)

"on fire" hasn't aged terribly great to me tho

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:37 (fifteen years ago)

i haven't heard "On Fire" enough in recent years to really judge how it's aged but i still love it, wish i did hear it more. not shocked that Eminem did minor co-production on something that good, was always more impressed by, say, the "Renegade" beat.

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:50 (fifteen years ago)

i prefer "disco inferno"

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:51 (fifteen years ago)

i feel like the productions are similar, which is why i bring it up, but maybe i'm wrong, i can't listen to them at the moment

truly blunted rhyme fiend (J0rdan S.), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

they are similar, but "On Fire" was kinda fresh-sounding when it dropped, and "Disco Inferno" was the half-assed attempt to repeat the formula 6 months later

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 18:17 (fifteen years ago)

godawful

never really got the love for "Wanna Get To Know You," imo the other Joe/G-Unit song that was out at the same time was better

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 18:23 (fifteen years ago)

"wanna get to know you" beat is pretty all time -- just a nice, low key, smooth joint

that sample is beyond classic

j. sargent & lil k3v (deej), Wednesday, 13 October 2010 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno maybe i'd rather listen to just the Marvin song, or even a Joe solo track over that beat? most of the G-Unit verses on that are pretty dull.

some dude, Wednesday, 13 October 2010 22:11 (fifteen years ago)

i think they're more gross than dull!

I'd never heard the original "Outta Control" till it was posted above. Yes, completely different song than the Mobb Deep version. I suppose I could get to like it over time, but on first listen, it's not even in the same universe as the remix.

A music video was released. It can be bought on iTunes and is as long as the single. The Game makes a cameo in the video. Near the end, The Game and Young Buck (who are now former G-Unit members) can be seen swapping chains briefly, signifying the trust that once existed among them.
