get the fuck out of my mouth (boxedjoy), Saturday, 30 October 2010 17:52 (fifteen years ago)

pretty decent comp! Had to go with Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full (Seven Minutes Of Madness: Coldcut Remix)

EZ Snappin, Saturday, 30 October 2010 17:54 (fifteen years ago)

"groove is in the heart" is my fav here but i voted for that in that pazz & jop winners poll so i'll vote for "missing" instead

teledyldonix, Saturday, 30 October 2010 18:07 (fifteen years ago)

don't do it

naked human hands and a foam rubber head (contenderizer), Saturday, 30 October 2010 18:14 (fifteen years ago)

Space Cowboy over Cosmic Girl? Cosmic Girl is a pure 90s Disco nostalgia throwback.

Just breaking it in, feels comfy (MintIce), Saturday, 30 October 2010 19:04 (fifteen years ago)

Oh don't make me choose between I Feel Love and Blue Monday fuck that's beyond Daddy or chips, that's like choosing between chocolate and ginger ARRRGGGHGHGHGH oh alright I Feel Love.

Wheal Dream, Saturday, 30 October 2010 19:10 (fifteen years ago)

argh, i can't choose only one. that'd be a crime

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Sunday, 31 October 2010 05:09 (fifteen years ago)

Anybody who votes for a non-Nile track can fuck right the fuck off

Uncharted: Nick Drake's Fortune (Noodle Vague), Sunday, 31 October 2010 10:12 (fifteen years ago)

Hey, I bought this last thursday! ("DJ'd" at a party at work on friday and had to fill some gaps in my personal collection)
Really happy to be able to 'replace' my crappy mp3 of Cowley's edit of "I Feel Love". I think that gets my vote but I'll verify by listening to the entire compilation while I paint my new house in the coming week..

willem, Sunday, 31 October 2010 13:07 (fifteen years ago)

Ain't No Stopping Us Now but most of the songs here deserve a vote or two

gospodin simmel, Sunday, 31 October 2010 13:20 (fifteen years ago)

ridiculously hard

go with gut instinct and vote "teardrops" maybe?

lex lex lex lex lex on the track BOW (lex pretend), Sunday, 31 October 2010 13:26 (fifteen years ago)

I can narrow it down to one of these ten:

The Sugarhill Gang - Rappers Delight
Sister Sledge - He's The Greatest Dancer
Cheryl Lynn - Got To Be Real
Donna Summer - I Feel Love
Eric B & Rakim - Paid In Full (Seven Minutes Of Madness: Coldcut Remix)
Bomb The Bass -Beat Dis
S'Express - Theme From S'Express
Inner City - Big Fun
Soul II Soul - Back To Life
Farley "Jackmaster" Funk & Jesse Saunders - Love Can't Turn Around

boxes of mint aeros I have eaten in a week (sic), Sunday, 31 October 2010 13:30 (fifteen years ago)

This is unbelievably impossible.

Shallots Are As Good As Joyce Brothers (Stevie D(eux)), Sunday, 31 October 2010 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

My personal favourite keeps changing on a daily basis - Big Fun is looking good for it right now but I bet the next time I hear the intro to Tom's Diner or the chimes in Rapture I'll end up switching. Listening to this on the bus to work on shuffle is making every day start like the best party ever.

get the fuck out of my mouth (boxedjoy), Sunday, 31 October 2010 18:20 (fifteen years ago)

Too hard. The only one which has never, ever let me down DJing though is S'Express.

The baby boomers have defined everything once and for all (Dorianlynskey), Monday, 1 November 2010 16:19 (fifteen years ago)

lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Monday, 1 November 2010 16:27 (fifteen years ago)

Robin S - Show Me Love
Crystal Waters - Gypsy Woman

gay nerd fuel (Eric H.), Monday, 1 November 2010 16:34 (fifteen years ago)

gay nerd fuel (Eric H.), Monday, 1 November 2010 16:34 (fifteen years ago)

since this is impossible i will rep for baltimore and cast my vote for gypsy woman, which is perfect and as good as everything else on here anyway

everything you do is a meatloaf (another al3x), Monday, 1 November 2010 16:46 (fifteen years ago)

This other 5, unfuckwitable:

The Trammps - Disco Inferno
McFadden & Whitehead - Ain't No Stopping Us Now
Sister Sledge - He's The Greatest Dancer
Womack & Womack - Teardrops
Happy Mondays - Step On

gospodin simmel, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:03 (fifteen years ago)

Moka, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:11 (fifteen years ago)

lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:16 (fifteen years ago)

Nobody even mentioned Good Times yet, at least not by name

"Anybody who votes for a non-Nile track can fuck right the fuck off"

gospodin simmel, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:22 (fifteen years ago)

I love Jamiroquai, if only for nostalgic reasons

gospodin simmel, Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:24 (fifteen years ago)

completely torn between s'express and utah saints

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

i will see your jamiroquai dan and raise you a blondie - rapture

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:26 (fifteen years ago)

nah, that track is overplayed but it's still amazing until the rap comes in, and the rap itself is so ludicrously funny that it only heightens enjoyment

lol tea partiers and their fat fingers (HI DERE), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:28 (fifteen years ago)

oh not for me it doesnt.

O_o-O_0-o_O (jjjusten), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:30 (fifteen years ago)

so much all-time goodness here!

If I were voting from an objective/historical/scholarly perspective, Chic would have my vote, but I'm not, so then: Blue Monday, the coldcut remix of Paid in Full, Groove is in the Heart & Loaded? beware of exploding brain.

so imagen what we can do with the rest of our brain...right buddy's?? (Pillbox), Wednesday, 3 November 2010 18:37 (fifteen years ago)

That rap's perfect in that song :D

On mature, non-hungover reflection I might've been a little OTT in my Chic fundamentalism, i.e. there's a shitload of great stuff on here. There's still a few tunes I don't really need to hear any more, or a couple where I don't think that particular mix is the best iteration of it. I know why "Killer" is classic but fuck it, it's way too lumpen for the dance floor, The 12-inches of "S Express" and "Step On" don't add much imo. "Loaded" was done by 1994.

I voted "Good Times" but about 30 seconds later I sorta wished I'd voted "Greatest Dancer".

Crystal Waters best 90s joint by miles, only competed with by Utah Saints imo

So many amazing tracks getting zero votes.

The baby boomers have defined everything once and for all (Dorianlynskey), Monday, 15 November 2010 10:26 (fifteen years ago)

Too pop for the dance bobbins crowd and too dance for the rock crowd. ;-)

Wheal Dream, Monday, 15 November 2010 10:27 (fifteen years ago)

Too hard to vote for me so i skipped it.
