As I said upthread I removed it from my ballot (I had given it 50 points initially) because after seeing the results I knew it had no chance of breaking into the top 100, so I ended up spreading it amongst other tracks that had a chance.

lol sorry , in my defense the only adjusts I made were switching points from a couple of tracks (MBV - Soon, Soda Stereo - Luna Roja, Cranes - Beautiful Friend) to other tracks I loved dearly as well. The list you see upthread is pretty much the list I had since the beginning, at least the heavy votes are (most of them were my nominees).

Damn, my idea of tactical voting was doubling or tripling (or even voting SEVEN times in the case of MBV) for bands rather than songs in order to force them to place. Clearly that was the wrong tactic to take. ;_;

Uh, really? Pretty sure I nominated it, tbh. I certainly voted for it. You're right about Bleach though, they were quite mediocre.

The first time I saw Ride live (in October 1990) I knew that Bleach were the support act, perhaps because it said so on the ticket, or more likely because they were listed as such in the music press. I'd never seen or heard Bleach at that point, so when the support group came out I just assumed it was them. I only realised it wasn't them when Bleach came onstage *after* the first group, which turned out to have been Slowdive. I liked both groups and got the early EPs (either myself or taped off my mate) and saw them both live again. I would say I was equally into the two of them at the time. In the 20 years that have passed since then I have almost never listened to Bleach again and looking back they were obviously nowhere near as good as Slowdive.
