Dying on stage

A macabre question but isn't that the perfect way to die for a rock star? I know Johnny Guitar Watson died when touring in Japan and Mark Sandman, the singer of Morphine died at a concert in Rome. Any others?

Tommy Cooper. And I think Keith Relf of the Yardbirds was fatally electrocuted on stage.

relf was at home wasn't he?

Relf was at home -- I think he's being confused with the singer for Stone the Crows, who was electrocuted on stage. Tiny Tim died on stage moments after singing "Tiptoe Thru the Tulips". Alive, Jackie Wilson had a massive stroke on stage which eventually killed him.

If you want to push it towards "laid low by injuries sustained on stage", you could even fit Curtis Mayfield into this category.

I have now idea why I typed "alive" when I meant to type "also". Cr-reepy!

Sorry, I wuz just confused - I know almost nothing abt Counting Crows, and plan to keep it that way.

Tommy Cooper, not only dying on stage but actually died on live TV. Beat that.

Andrew, yer confused again. Counting Crows /= Stone the Crows.

Colin Meeder (Mert), Friday, 9 August 2002 12:42 (twenty-three years ago)

It was the guitarist for Stone The Crows, not the singer, who was electrocuted on stage.

Fucking hell, just electrocute me NOW!

Andrew L, Friday, 9 August 2002 12:48 (twenty-three years ago)

I haff just googled, and David is correct.

He wasn't a rock star, but didn't Cary Grant die onstage during a lecture or something?

any famous incidents of people vomiting on stage?

Tammi Terrell also collapsed onstage, falling into duet-partner Marvin Gaye's arms. I think (I could be wrong) that it was a stroke. She died soon thereafter. 1969 or '70, I believe.

Tiny Tim died on stage in Minneapolis around 1998 or something like that(?)
