Revival Tour "punk folk" stuff - C or D / S&D

Knee jerk reaction a strong 'D' - at first glance, this 'scene' of good looking non-threatening punk boys playing heartfelt homeland flyover country seems as insular and creepy as the worst Christian rock. But I'm finding it hard to deny the talents of Austin Lucas (son of Bob), who writes pretty beautiful tunes in the pre-weirdness Richard Buckner / Damien Jurado mold. Also, Chuck Ragan (ex Hot Water Music) has an album called Bristle Ridge that's actually more than decent. Anyway, is this just music for emo kids who are just now discovering Harvest, or something more substantive? And do we get to blame Against Me! for all of this?

Hmmm...I like that take on it. But the Pogues were sorta the opposite of non-threatening...

not much time for this scene, hard D for me. way too self congratulatory a circle of dudes that cld be upping their songwrite game or at least delivering a fun set. although, i maybe blame Young Pioneers for Against Me and i love that band so who knows
