There was an episode of Arthur like this! Where Binky is getting blamed for tagging the word BINKY on all kinds of public property – which turns out to be a poorly-thought-out promotional campaign for all-hologram pop band Binky. Outside the context of ARTHUR, this scares the shit out of me!

INSIDE the contest of Arthur this scares the shit out of me.
Except i genuinely like that last youtube.

part of me feels like this is the natural evolution of pop music, or at least a natural extension of it, tbh. We've already got a sold out crowd of 25K showing up to watch pop stars sing to prerecorded tracks and to carefully choreographed dances...and half of the time those pop stars are pruned to look "ideal"...so why not just use a hologram and save yourself the diva?

I'll be completely honest, I downloaded the whole Supercell album while reading about this over the weekend (There's another one by LiveTune but it's harder to find). The artificial vocals are amazing and the Vocaloid mascot-tans are cute. Apperently there are other vocal pack characters but fans seem to love Miku best.

That's not a "laugh track", it's an audience and you're in it. (MintIce), Tuesday, 16 November 2010 15:00 (fifteen years ago)

yeah that's a bit headshaking. BTW, tried out supercell on the train today and it's basically unlistenable.
