And Vaughan Oliver did the artwork

I'm off to buy it from iTunes and then have a lie down.

no sample?

dan138zig (Durrr Durrr Durrrrrr), Monday, 29 November 2010 11:21 (fifteen years ago)

Just looking now. On first listen I prefer the more 'Lynchian'/DNOTS/Portishead style B-side to the A-side.

quite nice...tho not sure if my general love for lynch is making me like this superpitcher-lite!

I see what this is (Local Garda), Monday, 29 November 2010 12:32 (fifteen years ago)

quite nice. production is a bit thin but i like the song in there. i also find it a tad fast.

It reminds me of that relatively mor house thing who had a single out with David Byrne? Am I making this up? x-Press?

Carl Jung Jeezy (Doran), Monday, 29 November 2010 12:58 (fifteen years ago)

not as embarrassing as initially feared. he sounds a little like Eno in there to me.

when this was debuted on KCRW many months ago, Jason Bentley announced it as the new Underworld two weeks in a row.

brotherlovesdub, Monday, 29 November 2010 15:10 (fifteen years ago)

Before the vocals start it sounds like Moby's "Go", which is apt I guess, since that tune samples the theme from Twin Peaks.

Tuomas, Monday, 29 November 2010 15:13 (fifteen years ago)

Just read the Quietus article and it's really bullshit to say 'commonly mistaken for Underworld' since it was announced by the DJ on two separate occasions as being Underworld. It was not 'commonly mistaken' it was continuously announced as being Underworld.

The guy is a master of the moan

Good news, everyone! (kelpolaris), Monday, 29 November 2010 15:25 (fifteen years ago)

i had the same reaction as Tuomas w/r/t "Go"

I'm not even sure what this guy's moaning about. He sounds like a right laugh though. I'm going to invite him down the pub.

this is better than anything on the new Eno, btw.

Is it really better than that ace noisy, industrial track? Flint March? Horse? I mean, I'm in broad agreement with you...

Carl Jung Jeezy (Doran), Monday, 29 November 2010 18:47 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah - at least to my ears. That Eno album is just disappointing. Apologies for derailing...

No, I agree with you. Small Craft was a wasted oportunity. This however, could go anywhere I guess and I really like Lynch's contributions to Dark Night Of The Soul even though on its own it's hardly reinventing the wheel. I do like all the weird clattery percussive effects on a Good Day Today.

so much love for david lynch <3 what a cool dude

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Monday, 29 November 2010 21:59 (fifteen years ago)

not too into the gunblasts on "Good Day" but all in all this is pretty cool.

dmr, Monday, 29 November 2010 22:41 (fifteen years ago)

"Go" ref OTM

Weird that Quietus and Graun both cite Dark Night but not Industrial Symphony No 1!

i'm assuming that it's tity boi, host of the mixtape (sic), Tuesday, 30 November 2010 00:52 (fifteen years ago)

The B-side is weirdly like an early Baby Bird track (this is meant as praise)
