Rather than cluttering up the main poll results thread, I am starting this in case anyone else wants to discuss this playlist consisting of tracks which only received on vote:

_Rudipherous_, Saturday, 4 December 2010 03:48 (fourteen years ago)

I like "The Golden Core" by Motorpsycho a lot, first time I've heard it. I checked out one of their other tracks before voting and was turned off and didn't listen to any of the remaining songs.

_Rudipherous_, Saturday, 4 December 2010 03:59 (fourteen years ago)

This is not an accurate list. Missing (as already mentioned) Darcy Clay- Jesus I was Evil, The Clean, Puddle and Bats songs.

Hinklepicker, Saturday, 4 December 2010 04:01 (fourteen years ago)

I never knew "Sail on Sailor" was the Beach Boys! Never knew the title either, and haven't thought about this song for a while.

_Rudipherous_, Saturday, 4 December 2010 04:15 (fourteen years ago)

Sorry am I wrong or just being ignored because of my idiotic foolishness and complete lack of cool.

Hinklepicker, Saturday, 4 December 2010 04:17 (fourteen years ago)

I'm not keeping track, and the complaints need to be directed to Captain Lorax. I can understand caring about it, but I am not interested in whether it's missing a few tracks (aside from the ones I sent links to Lorax for).

_Rudipherous_, Saturday, 4 December 2010 04:20 (fourteen years ago)

Also I would say don't worry about it because I'm pretty sure this thread is doomed and was doomed from its inception.

_Rudipherous_, Saturday, 4 December 2010 04:39 (fourteen years ago)

Have patience my friend.

Perhaps there is a legion of disgruntled century voters just ready to unleash vociferous defences as well as a group of smug yet curious cannoners that will make this- THE GREATEST THREAD OF THEM ALL.

I didn't realize you made this thread until right now. I had finally finished updating the playlist (grooveshark's server has been slow and not letting me upload everything). So your #1 Umm Kulthum track is there now along with Spratleys Japs - Fanny.

I'm really glad you enjoyed 'The Golden Core'. It's a long track so I'm glad you didn't hit skip. I think it's phenomenal. I blasted it on my headphones when I watched the last batch of 4th of July fireworks over a river earlier this year. It sounded appropriate. (Then I typed 'The Golden Core' into youtube and realized that Motorpsycho played it over fireworks as well during one of their concerts).

Rudipherous, I listened to Umm Kulthum and your other Arabic one vote wonders when I was doing some Christmas work around the house and it really did feel like a more traditional Christmas ;) (they were enjoyable as well)

― Hinklepicker, Saturday, December 4, 2010 4:01 AM (5 days ago)

I didn't put songs that received less than 170 points (ranked lower than #85 on anyone's list)

ZOUNDS! (CaptainLorax), Thursday, 9 December 2010 20:51 (fourteen years ago)

I mean, erm, if #85 was your #15 song and #100 was your #1 song
nevermind.

ZOUNDS! (CaptainLorax), Thursday, 9 December 2010 20:56 (fourteen years ago)

1357 Lorraine Ellison - Stay With Me 178

I'd been meaning to go back and see where this one landed. I can't BELIEVE that only I voted for it. :(

Lightning Is For Babies (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 9 December 2010 20:58 (fourteen years ago)

So your #1 Umm Kulthum track is there now along with Spratleys Japs - Fanny.

Great. I thought maybe it was too large to load, or too large to want to be bothered with.

Actually, Fairouz does Christmas music, even some you'd recognize:

I'm liking this Les Rallizes track. (This is my second or third listen.) Never really cared for anything else I had heard by them previously.

bourgeoistech bourgeoisthèque (_Rudipherous_), Friday, 10 December 2010 02:56 (fourteen years ago)

Half of my ranked section ended up in the Galleria ;_;

1273 Jorge Ben - Hermes Trismegisto Escreveu 194
1295 Planxty - The Blacksmith 190
1318 Sly and The Family Stone - Sing a Simple Song 186

seandalai, Friday, 10 December 2010 02:58 (fourteen years ago)

Ok, 3/8 of my ranked section.

seandalai, Friday, 10 December 2010 03:00 (fourteen years ago)

gospodin simmel, Friday, 10 December 2010 03:04 (fourteen years ago)

Alexander Skip Spence — Grey/Afro

I can't believe I am the only one who voted for this song!

Stop Non-Erotic Cabaret (Abbbottt), Friday, 10 December 2010 03:08 (fourteen years ago)

OTOH maybe I can. It sounds like a man dying while playing the bass in a bathroom.

Stop Non-Erotic Cabaret (Abbbottt), Friday, 10 December 2010 03:09 (fourteen years ago)

dying of malaise

This Zappa is really unlistenable, though I think I'd say that about most Zappa at this point.

bourgeoistech bourgeoisthèque (_Rudipherous_), Friday, 10 December 2010 04:19 (fourteen years ago)

I enjoyed hearing that Zappa song. Basically all Zappa is new to me - I never tried to get into his music
Yet somehow I remember and enjoy one of his longer tracks and I don't how, when, or why I first listened to this song:

i'd have voted for that

1258 Juliette Gréco - La valse brune 198
1263 Love Inc. - R.E.S.P.E.C.T. 196
1295 Dean Martin - Sway 190

1337 Uakti - Arrumaçao 182
1381 Grace Jones - Demolition Man 174
1391 Hardfloor - Once Again Back 172

These were all from my ballot. All in all I think maybe 1/3 of the tunes I voted for was voted by no one else, it was kinda sad to see that.
