"Beatles and Stones" very much in character

one pretty obvious guy in the obvious (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 6 December 2010 18:05 (fifteen years ago)

wonder if its the House Of Love song. heard the new single, pretty bad. more jerry lee lewis than beatles. theres a cover of 'sons of the stage' on the b-side. so kudos for that i guess.

That was "The Beatles and The Stones", and was pretty bad really.

Wow, never happened before?

two months pass...

Hi,

Just heard the album!

It's....

BETTER!

than (arguably) any of the other Oasis albums!

And (unarg) than most of them. The main difference, apart from only Liam singing, is that it has a lightness of touch that Oasis didn't have.

OK, off youse go then....

Mark G, Monday, 21 February 2011 09:22 (fifteen years ago)

That cover is pretty cool, FWIW.

Neil S, Monday, 21 February 2011 14:52 (fifteen years ago)

I've actually been curious to hear this.

rendezvous then i'm through with HOOS (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Monday, 21 February 2011 15:04 (fifteen years ago)

Hmm... the lumbering turgidity has certainly gone, and there's a new-found agility to the playing, I'll give it that much!

mike t-diva, Monday, 21 February 2011 15:08 (fifteen years ago)

Also, Steve Lillywhite = good move. He brings the sparkle.

mike t-diva, Monday, 21 February 2011 15:19 (fifteen years ago)

I...

Don't actually

BELIEVE!

That it's better

Than even the ropiest Oasis albums.

(And certainly not) any good at all...
