I've only heard DJ, Ease My Mind and Under The Bridges but like them a lot, will check out the others you've posted. Just about different enough from The Knife to not be unnecessary.

hey johnny fever i adore this band. you're not alone!
― cute fascist hardass (zachlyon), Sunday, 29 May 2011 05:49 (fourteen years ago)
I thought Niki & The Dove were a long-lost Prince side project.

Wow just heard Under the Bridges for the first time, it's seriously amazing. Is there an album on the way soon?
― Kitchen Person, Friday, 23 September 2011 23:21 (thirteen years ago)
There's another EP coming in October. No date set for an album yet, but I think it's before year's end.
― Johnny Fever, Saturday, 24 September 2011 00:21 (thirteen years ago)
OKAY HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS SONG IS TOTAL GODHEAD

― Johnny Fever, Friday, 7 October 2011 16:59 (thirteen years ago)
Yeah that's amazing. I've loved just about everything I've heard by them now. I haven't been this excited about a new band in a long time, probably not since I first heard Wild Beasts.
I saw Popjustice mentioned them the other day as being a pop band for people who don't like pop or something. I kind of hate it when they say things like that but was just glad to see them get a mention.
― Kitchen Person, Friday, 7 October 2011 22:16 (thirteen years ago)
Played this about 12 or 15 times since Friday. Can't wait for this damn album to arrive.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 10 October 2011 01:14 (thirteen years ago)
bit disappointed by "the drummer"
this one hasn't been mentioned yet, one of my favs:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JUYOa7E68c
also, cannot describe in words how much i love (the full 9-minute) "under the bridges"... that song does things to me
― witchho (zachlyon), Monday, 10 October 2011 03:17 (thirteen years ago)
Oh? I think it shows they can put together a really tight single as well as they can do extended things like "Under the Bridges" and "Mother Protect". It's probably the most Kate Bush-y thing they've done, though, and it may be a little plagiaristic.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 10 October 2011 03:38 (thirteen years ago)
my thoughts on it at the sniggies jerkbox: http://www.thesinglesjukebox.com/?p=4343
i guess i spent more time talking about the band than the song. disappointed that this and "the fox" were given the singles boost, when those ones so comparatively subdued and minor. i love them for the brash/daring/fearless bits that grab you, which are rarer in their more composed songs.
― witchho (zachlyon), Wednesday, 12 October 2011 23:52 (thirteen years ago)
So the tracklisting has been released for the album.
http://itunes.apple.com/gb/preorder/niki-the-dove/id487421723
There is doubt this will be a solid album but I have to say I'm really disappointed that nine of the tracks have already been released. Only two new songs really doesn't seem like a lot to me.
― Kitchen Person, Friday, 17 February 2012 17:36 (thirteen years ago)
I kind of like the fact that the album will be comprised of their first batch of material, tbh. In five years, I won't feel like tracking down several singles and eps when I can just grab their debut album instead. Disappointed that they've given it a title and changed the cover art, though.

(that's me with the "s/t cover idea looked better fwiw" snarky comment)
― Johnny Fever, Friday, 17 February 2012 17:45 (thirteen years ago)
I like that your comment stands out amongst the usual "Yay, looks amazing" type ones.
I know what you mean about wanting a collection of all their material and in a few years it won't matter but I've had those songs for a while now and I was interested to hear what else they could do.

So the album is great but why the hell did they edit the last half of Under The Bridges? That last half was the best thing they've done.
― Kitchen Person, Monday, 28 May 2012 21:11 (thirteen years ago)
I think it's edited on cd but complete on vinyl? Or vice versa.
― Johnny Fever, Monday, 28 May 2012 21:14 (thirteen years ago)
Oh I got the CD and it's the edit on there. Not sure why they did that, bit of a shame. Still it's a great album overall, my favourite debut in years.
― Kitchen Person, Monday, 28 May 2012 21:35 (thirteen years ago)
oh that's terrible. :(
― of family bonds and individual triumph. Narrated by Tim Allen, (zachlyon), Tuesday, 29 May 2012 03:15 (thirteen years ago)
It will almost feel like cheating when this ends up being my favorite album of the year in December, because I've been listening to more than half of it in 2010 and 2011—but thems the breaks. It's perfect. I wouldn't change a single thing about it.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 31 May 2012 07:28 (thirteen years ago)
This album sounds really good in winter.
― boxedjoy, Sunday, 9 December 2012 08:35 (twelve years ago)
album is so good. also seems to attract weird fans. i was talking to my friend's super norm-y if sweet gf and she was all feelin NatD
― unknown pleasure zone (uptown churl), Sunday, 9 December 2012 19:48 (twelve years ago)
This is still the case, btw. Nothing has come anywhere near knocking this one off the roost.
― Johnny Fever, Sunday, 9 December 2012 19:53 (twelve years ago)
Judging by the remixes, I wouldn't mind if NatD had picked a bit harder/more aggressive/dancier line on the album, but then again we have Battlekat etc. for that.

Love it. I hope this means there's possibly a new full-length on the horizon.
― Chantilly Bass, Friday, 23 October 2015 17:53 (nine years ago)
Yeah, I hope they're not on the same schedule they were on with the first one where there's a single every 6 months, then an ep, THEN the album sometime in 2017.

I'm going to trust Play It on My Radio is more of an indicator of its quality than that warmed over boring-ass album cover is.
(tbh, this is my most anticipated album of the year now that the KING record is already out there.)

There's apparently a delay in the album being available outside of Sweden at the moment, but*cough*itsonsoulseek*cough*
― Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Tuesday, 12 April 2016 02:38 (nine years ago)
So this is quite a bit different from the initial singles/first album, but very much in line with the two songs that came out in the last few months. Again, they're really good and utilizing 80s sounds and atmosphere without turning out a bunch of pastiche pieces, but this time it's less Kate Bush/Stevie Nicks and more Italians Do It Better—which is an okay twist, because who knows when those Chromatics and Glass Candy albums are ever going to come out.
― Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Tuesday, 12 April 2016 02:58 (nine years ago)
This is an extraordinary album imo. The ballads are some of the best Prince approximations I've heard in a while.
― art baengels (monotony), Thursday, 14 April 2016 04:57 (nine years ago)
I'm not really getting an IDIB vibe on first impressions but I'm really enjoying this. It was the right move to tone down the bombastic production as her voice is strong enough on its own and it felt a little overblown at times on the debut. I wish the big ballads were right at the end of the album though, the pacing is a bit off.
― boxedjoy, Thursday, 14 April 2016 13:09 (nine years ago)
I'm not really getting an IDIB vibe on first impressions
Yeah, after I wrote that I made a dumb face when reading it back. Maybe I was just thinking of the overall "slow-burn" nature of the record.
― Ⓓⓡ. (Johnny Fever), Thursday, 14 April 2016 13:15 (nine years ago)
wow this is great.
prince vibes prob even more striking given the timing of release.
― dc, Friday, 22 April 2016 17:01 (nine years ago)
This new album is fantastic. Feels like a big step up from the debut.
― Kitchen Person, Tuesday, 26 April 2016 14:20 (nine years ago)
this has been my go-to summer jam. even the b-sides from the deluxe version are rockin.
― KevRus, Saturday, 16 July 2016 04:33 (nine years ago)
I love this album so much and at times it makes me extremely emotional. "brand new", "everybody wants to be you", "ode to dancefloor", & "you want the sun" are all such magnificent songs
― art baengels (monotony), Saturday, 13 August 2016 00:06 (nine years ago)
yeah this has crept on me as a recent favourite in a big way
― boxedjoy, Saturday, 13 August 2016 09:45 (nine years ago)
"Coconut Kiss" is such a jam. "Lost UB" and "You want the sun" also top drawer.
― Everything Moves Towards The Sun (Ross), Monday, 2 January 2017 21:16 (eight years ago)
was the last one underrated? seems to be
― tinnitus the night (Ross), Wednesday, 28 March 2018 21:57 (seven years ago)
yeah it was great despite getting very little attention
― ufo, Wednesday, 28 March 2018 22:27 (seven years ago)
it's one of my favourite albums of the decade!
― monotony, Wednesday, 28 March 2018 22:42 (seven years ago)
first five tracks on it would make for the greatest EP of all time and the way I feel about "Play It On My Radio", it's probably the most powerful song I've ever heard about my relation to pop and growing older
― boxedjoy, Thursday, 29 March 2018 09:20 (seven years ago)
Ode To The Dancefloor is such a great closer
