this dying on stage thing got me thinking....

it seems that with all the booze and drug concoctions there should be a high incidence of people vomiting on stage. Anyone know of any particularly humiliating live chunk blowing

My brother threw up on stage once, but it was because he's alergic to peanuts and there were some (in some form) in the burrito he ate.

Isn't throwing up the entire concept behind those Slipknot fools' live show?

I saw Ann Shenton from Add N To X puke just offstage in the middle of their set at Glastonbury in 1999. She was swigging from a Pernod bottle and acting very funny, then she ran to the side of the stage for a few minutes and came back looking pale and wiping her mouth while the other guys in the band seemed to be checking if she was ok. My kinda lady.

Saw the singer from Born Against get a KILLER, HUGE, MIND-BLOWING nosebleed on stage in Annapolis once...

Pete Sampras vs Alex Corretja, in that US Open QF a few years back.

Sorry, wrong forum.

Seen none from the drinking or the drugs, but a few buckets by artists for the flu I've seen and known and cleaned.

Iggy onstage pretty much every night, as related in that falsehood-ridden Legs McNeil book

Devin Townsend (of Strapping Young Lad, et al) was hired by Steve Vai to sing for him on one of his tours, aparrently Vai thought Townsend had 'attitude'. Townsend got some sort of shocking flu midway, and was put on some sort of antibiotics that reacted _really_ badly with alcohol.

End result: Devin threw up all over Vai's pedalboard mid-song. Vai was more than a bit pissed off.

I threw up once my damn self. Had been screaming like Blaine from the Fartz or that nut from Raw Power, full-out, for a number of lines (not the kinda singing I usually do, don't remember what I was so upset about), breath caught, instead of scream came full-on puke. Embarassing and upsetting, rather than exciting and innovative.

I went to see a certain Touch and Go band once, and during the big finale, the bassist threw up on all of the people in the front row. It wasn't deliberate: he was sick, but it worked beautifully. The puke just missed me, but it got my friend.

I've read somewhere that there were some mid-seventies tours where Joe Cocker threw up onstage at nearly every date, so fucked up was he.

I remember seeing David Yow of the Jesus Lizard temporarily rush offstage mid-set to puke into a garbage can. 5 seconds later - back on-stage yowling and swigging Jack Daniels.

Calmly bringing a bucket with you = heroin addict, in my limited experience. Not saying that any of these guys are of course!

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Tuesday, 20 August 2002 18:59 (twenty-three years ago)

One time when I saw THe Mission UK they had what their rodies reffer to as accurately placed puke buckets on the side of the stage.

Johnny Vegas (not exactly a muso, but he certainly behaves badly on occasion) threw up while performing at Edinburgh's always sweaty Wilkie House a couple of years ago, and some of the (seated) crowd joined in, involuntarily.
