Amazing soundtrack. Kind of made me appreciate and get into British folk music when I first saw it. What's your favourite?

WTF, hang on, there's no Gently Johnny on here.

MODS PLEASE DELETE THIS THREAD, I need to start it again.

Also what you have posted there is the track listing of the unauthorized Trunk edition which was basically just taken from a copy of the butchered version of the film. This contains a bunch of short atmos-type pieces but omits the crucial song "Gently Johnny". The officially sanctioned Silva Screen edition has just the songs, including "Gently Johnny".

not sure which of these tracks is a version of 'willie o'winsbury' (the villagers sing it in the procession near the end) - but it was a thrilling moment when i recognised it, rescreening the movie a few years ago having grown to love the song in the annie briggs cover

nah I'm voting for this anyway

And on that tree there was a limb
And on that limb there was a branch
And on that branch there was a nest
And in that nest there was an egg
And in that egg there was a bird
And from that bird a feather came
And of that feather was
A bed

And on that bed there was a girl
And on that girl there was a man
And from that man there was a seed
And from that seed there was a boy
And from that boy there was a man
And for that man there was a grave
From that grave there grew
A tree

And on that tree there was a limb
And on that limb there was a branch
And on that branch there was a nest
And in that nest there was an egg
And in that egg there was a bird
And from that bird a feather came
And of that feather was
A bed

And from that man there was a seed
And from that seed there was a boy

Something that I feel is lacking from the soundtrack version of Gently Johnny is Lee's monologue at the window during the bridge, which adds an extra dimension of rural crepe-iness to an already quite eerie song.

bonus points to anyone who can name the agalloch songs (from the white ep) that sample wicker man dialogue/those kids saying "we! carry! death! outofthevillage!"

It's all incredible. But that guitar part when the girl and sergeant are running through the cave deserves a mention

the only funk number in it you mean?

Bernard V. O'Hare (dog latin), Friday, 17 December 2010 16:08 (fourteen years ago)

Didn't realise Willow's Song was the bit with the underdressed Ms Ekland till I searched just now. One of the most effective pieces of film soundrack I've ever heard.
