Help me find this song only by description - (similar to Jackson 5)

The song and the artist were wagon-hitching on Jackson 5's success and was probably released around the late 60's/mid 70's.
Can't recall the actual lyrics but the name of the song was an adjective (a weird one, since I've never seen anyone use it) and it was used to describe a girl who was being lukewarm or something like that. The chorus went something along the lines of 'girl why are you so...' 'girl why have to be so...'

If I could remember the name of the song it'd be fairly easy to find, because as I've mentioned the title is an uncommon word. I actually have no idea what it meant but I suppose in the context of the song it was some sort of synonym for difficult or mean.
