"Shadazz" is one of my all-time jams.

EZ Snappin, Sunday, 12 December 2010 00:26 (fourteen years ago)

this is much harder than the s/t poll. every track is amazing. you posted the wrong album cover though, seeing as this is a purists poll

I play this one way more than any of the other Suicide albums. A perfect mix of experimentalism and their pop sensibilities.

"Diamonds, Fur Coat, Champagne" for me...

Deluxe Merseybeat Wig (Jack Battery-Pack), Sunday, 12 December 2010 07:12 (fourteen years ago)

gotta be "Shadazz" tho

How old is Alan Vega in that photo at the top? I love the 'myth' bit of his wiki entry:

Alan Vega (born Boruch Alan Bermowitz on June 23, 1938)...

Myth

Prior to the announcement of the 70th birthday release in 2008, Vega was thought to have been ten years younger. The 2005 book Suicide: No Compromise lists 1948 as his birth year and quotes a 1998 interview in which Vega talks about watching Elvis Presley on The Ed Sullivan Show (1956) as a "little kid". A 1983 Los Angeles Times article refers to him as a 35 year old.

Yeah, Shadazz.

Preferably on endless repeat...

Be Bop Kid is the one that pops into my head the most when I'm walking down the street, so I'll go with that.

Fetchboy, Sunday, 12 December 2010 12:03 (fourteen years ago)

All ten tracks better have some votes, ILM. I'm going with Mr. Ray because I like that kind of relentless machine beat that could just go on for half an hour while they improvise over it live.

supa cop - triple a

StanM, Sunday, 12 December 2010 12:11 (fourteen years ago)

This is gonna be tough since I love the entire album. I'll be back with my vote after I listen for the 3rd time in a row.

all these tracks deserve votes, but for me it's gotta be "Harlem". Pulsing and relentless.

I went for "Harlem" as well.

"sweetheart" or "shadazz" would do it for me if it weren't for "harlem"

so, "harlem"

search: live versions of these songs on the second disc of the first album reissue

if nothing else this thread will result in some great display names (Edward III), Thursday, 16 December 2010 16:41 (fourteen years ago)

Already regretting not voting Shadazz

Fetchboy, Thursday, 16 December 2010 17:18 (fourteen years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

Voted for Sweetheart. I wanted to vote for Dream Baby Dream, had kind of forgotten that was a bonus track.

I much prefer this one to the debut.

Fetchboy, Sunday, 19 December 2010 00:01 (fourteen years ago)

Only 18 votes :(

not exactly a canon album

I like the tie between the synthpunk and synthpop tracks

if nothing else this thread will result in some great display names (Edward III), Sunday, 19 December 2010 00:05 (fourteen years ago)

I would like to see this album become a canon album

o tannenbaum, o judge (crüt), Monday, 20 December 2010 05:20 (fourteen years ago)

four years pass...

why didn't/doesn't this album get more love?

piscesx, Wednesday, 14 January 2015 00:35 (ten years ago)

The second album could be a bit less known as it was out of print for quite a few years.
