"Pretty Boy Swag" manages somehow to be WORSE than "Pretty Girl Bag" and I didn't that was possible

i've never heard "pretty girl bag" but i always assumed it's some kind of remix/response song to "pretty boy swag"? the soulja boy song was a big hit, never really liked it but imo the gucci remix justifies its existence.

does Fab really have stans like that, though? i mean i guess he does but it seems like he's so perfectly competent but nothing more than that year after year, even this year when he got into some iffy grocery bag territory, it's not really as offensive to me to say he's good as Drake or whatever.

there are def ny-based critics/bloggers i think that still think fab is like spitting 10/10 punchlines regularly

yeah but they still treat him as a punchline rapper...i don't think anyone really venerates him as a serious all-around MC in the misguided way some do w/ Joe Budden or anything.

90% of the time i've ever seen s.reynolds quoted, it's w/this or similar caveat appended

"B.M.F." (and by extension "Michelle Obama") has a better beat than "Hard In Da Paint". They'd be pretty equal but what pushes "B.M.F." over the edge is that half-time boom boom boom in each reiteration of the chorus, which actually sounds like Ross stomping down the mountainside to come eat you up.

nah not at all, "hard in da paint" is so much more propulsive - there's a lot more motion in it, "bmf" plods by comparison. the "hard in da paint" key change is one of the great pop moments of 2010, a half-time boom boom has nothing on that.

boys, boys, they're both boring unremarkable beats.

i've been meaning to write a thing about huge rap songs begging for a remix that for some strange reason never got one -- "BMF" definitely one of the most glaring. ideally Ross would've reached out to Jeezy to do a remix instead of Jeezy getting all weirded out about a song named after his crew and did the kinda diss track freestyle.
