Does anyone else think this is a contender to the title of Spookiest Song Ever? It's no "Revolution 9," but hear me out.
I remember hearing it on an AM transistor radio as a kid, and it was just about the eeriest song I'd ever heard. It's the echo, the high vocals, the way the instruments keep dropping out (leaving only vocal chants or lonely harmonica), and the way the audience seems to be actually howling rather than applauding. The "Mary Had A Little Lamb" reference is more unnerving than amusing in this context. And just when you think it's over, there's a confusing musical interlude, and then...the song starts up again!
