Rihanna - Rated R - poll

it's almost impossible for me to think of "rude boy" as being from this album

we alread started discussing this on the loud thread. my vote goes to "fire bomb", which also strikes me as the most representative track of the album too, the one that's pitched perfectly between the extremes elsewhere (but is almost the most extreme itself, in terms of imagery and narrative). also, amazing anthemic soft rock chorus <3

xp yeah - i remember i wasn't into it for ages, and then as i started to think of it in isolation (and then it being a single helped) i started to love it

was it the last single from this? if so, it's probably the most successful "last single of a campaign" i can think of offhand

i think the second half of this is the best, even tho stuff like "te amo" & "photographs" send the album a bit thematically off the rails, they're the songs that i enjoy the most

the hard edged electric guitars stuff is not stuff i really wanna hear anymore

it was "te amo" which is amazing but the label was prob already looking to transition to 'loud'

After listening to Rated R I lost interest in her because it seems like she's trying to remake Good Girl Gone Bad but darker and edgier.

rating rude boy of all things above hard just makes me rethink so many assmpt.s of sanity i made abt many of u in the past

i only really care about the first two i listed

Voted "Russian Roulette", which is an amazing ballad, so different from what she usually does.

kind of gratified that I'm not the only person who really, really digs "Russian Roulette"

i didn't vote for it but i definitely really, really dig "russian roulette", and i still think it was an incredible choice of lead single
