the best kind of fuzz with the right kind of melodies, tk creeps up on you like a windstorm

from the straightforward call-and-response opening to the swing of the stutter in Too Alive, the album capitalizes on surprising hooks, throwing you off just enough to bate you.

they had never done anything like Off You or The She before, 2 of the stand-out tracks on the record. still, deciding on the best song will take more than one listen to this varied, lush classic.

Good Luck.

i love you but i have chosen snarkness (Steve Shasta), Thursday, 13 January 2011 04:03 (fourteen years ago)

This album got stuck in my car CD player in 2002, never to be seen again.

I did burn another copy last year.

yea i don't think i can vote for anything besides Off You

surm, Thursday, 13 January 2011 04:07 (fourteen years ago)

if I vote Off You then that will get at least 3 votes, and T and T will get none.

This is probably the only Kim Deal-centric album that I'm not overly familiar with. I've heard it, but I definitely don't like it enough to listen to it with any regularity.

Good record. I have never seen that cover. I had a different one. Strange.

I have to go for Off You. Also quite enjoy a bit of Full On Idle. Same song as Amps record.

Hinklepicker, Thursday, 13 January 2011 06:58 (fourteen years ago)

Amps' version of Full on Idle is waaay better.

i can't believe i spelled "bait" wrong in this thread, i'm upset

surm, Thursday, 13 January 2011 15:12 (fourteen years ago)

"Huffer."

Gus Van Sotosyn (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 13 January 2011 15:21 (fourteen years ago)

"Too Alive." Amazing off-kilter drums. This album separates people who think they like Kim Deal from people who actually like Kim Deal. One of the best recent examples of an album that's too good for the majority of a band's fans.

yeah the drums are amazing, with her ohh's

surm, Thursday, 13 January 2011 20:42 (fourteen years ago)

Too Alive is fantastic. Thank God it's getting a vote.
